xCloud launching September 15th on Android, no iOS at launch, xCloud will have 100+ games via Game Pass Ultimate

I own the Razer Kishi and I really like it.

Super comfortable to use.

The Kishi seems the way to go indeed. I find those clips where you put your phone at the top fairly inconvenient. Weight distribution is key.

Agree with this 100% don’t get me wrong the controller clips work fine but all the weight hanging off the top of the controller just doesn’t feel great after a while. The direct USB C connection makes a difference as well compared to Bluetooth, as does it running off the phone battery, so no need to worry about it being charged. The Kishi is the expensive option and that’s going to rule it out for a lot of people when you can get a clip for next to nothing, but it is a lot nicer to use. If the whole streaming thing takes off, I’m sure we’ll see cheaper alternatives come along.

I have a spare DualShock 4 that I’ll be using exclusively to play xCloud. Thanks Microsoft for continuing to support the DualShock 4.

Well tried the beta XCloud with my redmi note 7 (not a big phone), and xbox controller, and it worked really neat. Played Halo 5, Forza Horizon 4, Ace combat just to try out.

I’ll try it out this summer on the beach

The only thing that will hold back a game from being streamable is licensing. All Xbox games technically should work (outside of kinect titles but that seems more like a policy decision than a technical one… Though there is definitely a technical barrier to doing it especially for mobile… It’s just not worth the trouble, I know that it would be an engineering challenge but just not worth the time to do it).

And you can reasonably expect the DualSense will be supported in the future.

They should support it on XSX as well. Would need to be USB but why not.

I bought one of them first and exactly as you say - the weight difference becomes a pain after a while.

Yeah, I’m on the fence on buying a Kishi. Got an email from my mobile provider that my unlimited plan is eligible for 5G soon.

For xCloud I’m moslty interested in the WIndows 10 app though. I’d like to use my laptop for gaming, without having to install all kinds of games on it.

I was going to post this. Phil should be on.

I also only have apple phone and tablets :frowning: and wont get Android because of security and blatant data harvesting. Provides no added value for using my data that I consider worth while trade off. Apple is also very inconsistent in its policy.

Oof

This is just rubbish. I know it’s Apple…but still…this is terrible for xcloud.

Apple always reinforces why I will never get on their platform.

What if Microsoft, Google and Spotify (and maybe others) team up and say: Ok we are no longer publishing our apps on iOS until the store rules change.

I mean what will Apple be without Office or Google search, YouTube, Google Maps or Spotify?

Business users use Microsoft Office (at least I see it all around me in corporate environments), YouTube is too big to replace.

Google has done it before with Windows Phone. They also made the user experience much worse when they see your user agent isn’t Google Chrome and so on. Let them put some pressure on Tim Cook.

Nothing else will work. They don’t give a damn.

Just read some reviews about the Razer Kishi… one strange thing is that it seems to block the audio jack (and doesn’t have a way to use wired audio).

Guess at some point I’ll have to switch to bluetooth audio too…

Lookin forward to the next antitrust hearing. Grill the Cook!

There is an obvious solution to this dilemma - make xCloud work in the browser.

Update:

EU will save us all
