I need to get this game… I missed it on GP but it sounds like something I would really enjoy.
I honestly didn’t expect to like it as much as I did, it very clearly was made on a budget and has some flaws and the acting could be better, but for that, the concept really was good and it was very relaxing.
I try to get a few of those chill games in when I can, and need one. Putting this on my Xmas watch list.
+.5 Forza Horizon Rally DLC
This was probably THE game that convinced me to buy an Xbox 360, and while I had completed the main game a couple of times along with the 1000 club DLC (which was also an amazing way to make the game have new life), I never had finished the Rally add on. I love how they managed to take the existing world and make it feel different from the rest of the game. Even though I could absolutely recognize all the stage locations and place them in the real world, this just added something extra. I’d always intended to try to get to this by the end of the year, but playing Dirt 5 recently made me want to get back to this sooner, and I’ve gotta say that while the game clearly is older, it still feels amazing and has better driving than pretty much anything (with the exception of FH 5) I’ve played this year. It was great getting to do the rally stages and have something “new” in a game I bought so long ago. Sadly a lot of people won’t have that experience, and now that the servers were shut down last year, the 1000 club and rivals races are also gone. This may still be my favorite of the Forza Horizon games despite some truly awesome stuff that the games afterwards have achieved.
+1 Doki Doki Literature Club Plus
I don’t even know where to go with this one. The story was not my favorite at times and was good at other times, but it’s after it ended that was really memorable. This one is definitely not one I’ll forget.
+1 Vanquish (360)
Looking at the Metacritic scores, I feel like this game’s a bit overrated. It’s a fun third-person, sci-fi action shooter (clearly inspired by Gears of War,) but nothing particularly special. There’s a story, but 5 minutes after finishing the game, I couldn’t tell you what it’s about.
The graphics are strangely detailed but very low-res at the same time. Everything’s a bit blurry. Something I don’t remember noticing in other 360-games. Still, a solid 7/10 for me.
+0 Black Ops 6 Campaign (GamePass)
Must admit really enjoyed this. Never played a CoD campaign in years and this was a blast. I hope they eventually drop all the others into GamePass as there are a couple I’d like to play that I missed out on.
Backlog games are Xenoblade 2 on Switch and Blue Dragon on Xbox - too big to finish before deadline and about half way through both. Different games but enjoying them both and will finish them this time
New week, new update. Once again the top 3 keep knocking out completions! Only two weeks left now, good luck!

- +1 - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dawnguard (360) - I somehow never beat this expansion, so figured I’d tackle it while I’m on a Bethesda kick (thanks ADHD). This one was a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be, and I genuinely can’t wait to go through this on the Special Edition, because there are some sequences that are still genuinely impressive technically (even with all that screen tearing, frame-dropping glory). Great expansion with some genuinely great, impactful choices.
Total = 42.5
Also, pretty sure @Zip has the win for this year, I’m getting pulled back into some service games and my drive has petered out lol. Hoping to start strong in 2025 though, so you betta watch out!
@Mort are we starting in Jan 1st or is there a planned delay?
Dawnguard was great! I also have the special/anniversary edition left to play through, been a looooong time since I touched Skyrim so kinda getting the urge to play it sooner rather than later tbh.
And yes, we are definitely doing this next year as well. Traditionally starting on the 1st of Jan, but we are known to have waited for the Xmas sale to end before counting negatives
Yeah, I was the same - put in a total of 600 hours between every version I own, and after playing so much Starfield the last year, I just got the itch again to get lost in Bethesda worlds again.
Also, good to know, I’ve been really good this year (though financial circumstances helped dictate that reality as much as the contest), but things might be turning around in time for a holiday sale (no BF for me).
I keep meaning to play Skyrim, I think I bought it at least 3 times, but I’ve never gotten past the first dragon or so. Oddly I’ve also not finished the story in Starfield, though I think I’m super close - but it did click with me much better. Maybe I’ll make a concerted effort to get through Skyrim next year
Also - I had started out the year playing Halo & Forza Horizon every week, if I had dropped them earlier in the year I’d probably be a lot further ahead. Great games, but they definitely took up a lot of my gaming time.
While I’m here…
+1 An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs
Kind of a random one for me, I’m not a huge dog person (they tend to scare me) so I don’t know why I got this other than I think it was on one of the ID@Xbox shows or something and it looked different. You’re one of two surviving humans in a series of airport worlds run by dog pictures (2D pictures but they turn based on where you are around them), and you have to get your ticket, find the right boarding gate, figure out what world it’s going to, and figure out how to find the thing the second dog at the gate wants in order to unlock your flight to the next planet. Also all the printed text is written in some weird font that’s hard to read, though you CAN figure out the planets if you try a little.
Started this back when I bought it, then ran into issues with things not unlocking, had uninstalled it a few months back when I tried to start it another time, and I think this time the only thing I did differently this time was NOT adjust the look sensitivity, and things worked other than turning being super sluggish. It’s not something I’d recommend to most people, but it definitely was different.
+1 A Kingdom for Keflings (x360)
I played part of the Windows version of this back in the day, decided to give my Xbox copy a whirl. It’s about what I remembered, a fairly relaxing lightweight resource management / city building sort of game where you can play as your avatar. You’re tasked with building a Kingdom with little helpers called Keflings that you can assign to get resources, run things around, or in some cases run buildings. Eventually you can unlock things to make them move faster and let you carry more which are very helpful. If you want something low key and just kind of calming, this one’s not bad. I’ve started the second one as well and I think it has a little more humor in it.
Good to hear things are hopefully (fingers crossed) turning around.
-1 Full Void
A game I put on my wishlist who knows when and is randomly on sale this week! (still cruising BTW)
I relapsed again.
-1 Grandia HD Collection
-1 Chrono Cross ( I blame @Knottian for encouraging me on BSky)
I do love both of the games you picked up though, so sorry not sorry?
I’m on to you! Trying to sabotage everyone’s backlog so you can be the winner
Well, how they hell do you turn down Suicide Squad Deluxe Edition for $5?
I didn’t.

Well, I’m doing pretty terribly the last few weeks then haha, @Zip pulling too far ahead at this point
Oooh, that’s tough.
@MasterLeePhD You will need to tell me what you think of the Chrono Cross OST though as part of the deal
