I’m trying to plan out my next few months of gaming a bit. As usual, my focus will be on very long games (rpgs), so my “opportunities” to knock things off the backlog are somewhat limited.
I would like to knock off 2-3 more games before the flood of rpgs starts in a few weeks. I’ll be playing the new Yakuza, P3 Reload, and Final Fantasy 7 when they release (or shortly after), so they will probably keep me busy for months.
High priority backlog games for me this year are Alan Wake Remastered and 2, Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 (I think I have a save where I am halfway through 1), and getting caught up on the Trails series (I have completed all through Cold Steel 2). I also want to get caught up on Resident Evil - I still have 4 and 8 in the backlog.
Anything beyond that will probably be gravy - though I may sneak in some smaller/indie backlog games.
Those are some absolutely stellar choices there my friend; especially, PoE as I cannot recommend those two enough (the writing in the first especially, chef’s kiss). I say this earnestly:
I don’t plan ahead because by the time I finish playing whatever it is Im playing now (Dead Island 2) there is about 0% chance that what I planned to play next will actually be what I feel like playing.
I’m a mix of both… I plan ahead a bit, but mostly in broad terms. Like I have a pool of games that I will complete sooner than others, these are also installed and ready to go. Try to have a good mix in there so that there’s always something that fits with what i feel like playing.
Like @profjjj I have a bunch of bigger games planned, so I will try to throw in a bunch of smaller games too to get some points though heh. I normally only play one game at a time, but mixing in smaller games with the big ones shouldn’t be too distracting.
Final Fantasy (already beat OG 7 and CC, on Remake now)
Chrono Trigger/Cross
PS exclusives I’ve missed over the years (God of War 3-Current, Uncharted, Gravity Rush, etc.)
Then I’ll be sprinkling in some other backlog titles (both old and new) while also trying to survive this very JRPG heavy first quarter of 2024 (LAD, Persona, FF, and Unicorn Overlord? WTF!!)
The parkour and combat are the best parts of this. The story is decent, and there are a few satisfying moments.
It has some strange design decisions, such as dialogue and driving sequences being incongruent and the camera always fighting against you, but I enjoyed my time with this and I do recommend it.
Yea, the last half of the game has all kinds of guns.
I’d say… maybe 20 hours or so with some side quests. With the DLC I’m at ~27 hours according to the Xbox stats.
Still a lot more side stuff available in the game.
Quick question for @Mort and fellow backloggers: how do we gauge points for remake/remaster collections? As in, I’m going through the Spyro trilogy - so once completed is that 1 or 3 points? I don’t mind either way, just wanted to make sure we’re all on the same page and I’m counting in good-faith.
Also, if this was already answered, feel free to point and laugh
