Played this earlier this year and I thought it was enjoyable. These smaller, odd games are great palate cleansers.
Facts! Whenever I can’t decide what longer game I should start next I enjoy playing a handful of bite sized, and often wacky games, to give my fickle brain new things to enjoy until i can finally make up my mind lol
It’s Monday and time for another update. Completions keep on rolling in, great to see! Keep up the good work everyone

I’d mentioned recently in another thread that I finished one part of this, but was waiting until I got the whole thing to post it here. I finished The Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition. +1 for main game, +. 5 +. 5 for Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon. Got the Ludwig was Right achievement as my last one after putting a lot more time in than I had planned. And was fun telling the snotty rich woman to go to retirement on Byzantum. Also was fun getting my 3 negative factions, decided to run around Emerald Vale, Groundbreaker and Byzantum just causing mayhem.
Went back to the regular version (I’m in the middle of Murder on Eridanos there) and stuff I really hadn’t noticed was much better in the newer version is just obviously missing now, seeing it have some extra lag a couple of places. I think even some of the enemies seem to be missing but I’m not sure if I got somewhere too early and they’ll be there later. (Edit: Apparently I was there too early, just went back when the story had me do so & they were there.) The new one looks MUCH better. Also the dlcs were great, I’m playing them again now in the original version and still loving it even though I just played them recently. Until the other day I hadn’t played any of the endings to the main game where you sided with Sophia before, so that was interesting.
I definitely liked the spacers choice version better but I’m going to finish the game up in my original one since I’d only ever done a single run before and hadn’t even done all the companion quests. Probably still is going to take me a good while to complete this one. But it also really makes me excited to see what they do with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2. I’m also assuming they probably will have a couple of expansions for Avowed which sounds good to me if it also has good writing and can keep things fun.
Aight, I’m definitely getting the Spacer’s Choice Edition when I get the chance now. Playing them like you just did back to back, I trust your assessment of the quality.
+1 Foreclosed (Epic)
My first Epic completion and my first GeForce Now experience at the same time!
Streamed it natively on my smart tv. I swear it feels a little bit like actual magic. Console wars be damned - I’d be perfectly happy to switch to the cloud full time (if my full library was available, that is.)
Pretty good game with a nice comic book art style. The controls are a little clunky. But after adjusting the settings I got used to it pretty quickly.
This was actually the second time I’ve completed it - and the second time in the cloud, funnily enough. (First time was on Stadia… R.I.P.)
-1 Grotto
I played a demo of this years ago and enjoyed it. It popped up on sale this week. You play a soothsayer in the titular grotto, using constellations you see through the hole in the ceiling to answer questions from your tribe. These answers will influence everything from if two friends get married, to who is voted as chiefton, and even if your tribe goes to war.
+1 Lab Crisis
I have decided to attempt to complete every easy game I bought this year for the completion percentage competition. I feel comfortable trying for one each week, I did Story Tale last week and this one for this week.
So I’ve been staying up late the past few nights, and just wrapped up the original version and its DLCs. (I had already run through the main game once before, so just claiming the two DLCs on this version + .5, + .5) I did find there is a tree missing in the original that made it easier to pickpocket an ID. (Byzantum, where you steal the chemicals for Phineas)
In general though, the Spacer’s Choice version looks better and just seems a bit more polished - and I definitely appreciate not having the level cap at 36. I did realize I had been seeing titles for enemies popping up through scenery in both versions which gets a bit disconcerting, hopefully that’s something they can fix for the new games. That said - I’ve now got well over 350 hours into both versions with more than half of that in the past month, I just really love this game world. I can use a break from it for now though I think
+1 Halo Wars (Xbox 360)
Finally went back and finished this game all these years later, and had a blast doing it! Completion wise all I have left is multiplayer achieveemnt’s which I’ll go back to when I find a partner interested in running through them together but everything else is done so I’m calling it complete for now
- +1 CoD Modern Warfare 2 remastered
- +1 CoD BlackOps (Xbox 360)
- +1 Neverout
- -1 Dragon Age Veilguard Pre-order
- -1 Metaphor Refantazio Pre-order
- Net Change +1
- New total 10.5
I played last year’s CoD when it hit Game Pass a while back. I enjoyed it, so that made me curious what else I had in my library. I found that I had played about half of BlackOps years ago, but never finished it, had Modern Warfare 2 which I don’t think I had ever even launched, and Modern Warfare 4 (360), which I had already beaten in 2009. So, I decided to knock out those 2 other CoD campaigns.
I enjoyed both, but boy do I have a love/hate relationship with these games. The guns and shooting are great, but the horrid checkpoint system and the over-scripted nature of the combat are real turnoffs. Overall, I think I enjoyed the recent Modern Warfare 3 the most out of these three campaigns due to the more open nature of the levels (though I know that campaign was widely hated).
Neverout is a fun little puzzle game that involves being trapped in a series of rooms (perfect cubes) and having to flip the room various ways to navigate obstacles and find an escape. It is a pretty simple gravity -based puzzle game that only took me a couple of hours to complete.
The other puzzle game I mentioned a while back is The Entropy Center, but when I went back to check on it, I realized I hadn’t actually beaten it yet. So, I’ll have to report back on that one later.
Very much looking forward to Dragon Age and Metaphor. With those two plus everything coming to GamePass my fall will be booked solid. I’m a little nervous about Dragon Age, based on the development hell that game went through and the early trailers, but I have a deep love for the series so I’m willing to take a chance on it.
I’m on the fence still… I want it to be great, I also love Dragon Age, but I can’t shake the feeling that something feels off. Maybe I’ll just wait to see impressions from people like you…
Also, nice completions! I have a few CoD’s in the backlog, but they are way out of order and I was kind of hoping they would release all of them on Game Pass so i can play things in order. But I’m starting to doubt that’ll happen.
I was hoping they’d put them (Call of Duty) on Game Pass so I don’t have to use my game discs. I think I’ve played maybe modern warfare 2 from 360 and stopped there. Started a black OPs and stopped before I finished the first mission so I need to pick those up at some point.
Same here, I don’t have my old CoD disks anymore since I gave them to my cousin back ion the day so hopefully they will drop into game pass sometime soon so I can go back and finish them
Dragon Age looks great to me and is a day one digital purchase. Watched the high level combat/gameplay and love the real time combat with pausing similar to Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth so works for me. I have that four day weekend requested off from work so I can play it when it releases.
- -1 Astro Bot (PS5)
- -1 Silent Hill 2 (PS5)
Total 7.5
+1 Ark Survival Evolved
Man joining this backlog compitation as driven me to go back and finish games I’ve been holding out on for too long haha, bought this way back when it was still in preview. Glad I got it done, was fun messing around in with all the dinos and other creatures P.S. just to clarify we don’t count free title updates as DLC correct?
Correct.
Gratz on the completion!
Another week, another update! The completions keep coming, very nice.
