Also what a fantastic guest, it was amazing to hear the journey Abu has been on and his inspiration behind the game. I also really enjoyed how grounded he was, he simply said it as it was.

Maybe he can also give you a ‘in’ for a Josef Fares interview too?

My only negative? How did @Sikamikanico and @Shpeshal_Nick not get Braid? I literally got it within a second!

Best show and best guest ever IMO! don’t get me wrong there have been some truly great guests in the podcast but Abu was such an amazing guest…the point where he explained what inspired him to make Zau and what made me him choose metroidvania as the genre, great stuff and it’s times like this that we should realize how powerful and unique the videogame medium is.

I’d kill for an interview with Josef, dude is so talented and so underrated as a director plus his interviews are always great! Nick should annoy him enough on twitter to make this happen!

Keep up the great work guys, quality videogame related content is hard to find these days with all the shitty clickbait drowning the good stuff and you guys are constantly getting better at what you do.

Also agree with Nick that I’d see them announcing Gears 6, possibly releasing next year, and then saying and the Gears collection is out this year. Thats what they did with Halo 5 and MCC as well.

Strong agrees on both points.

One thing I wish they’d do is have Gears 6 inside The Gears Collection. It irks me to have a “collection” without everything in it. At the same time, I understand how expansions and DLCs never sell as much as the original title and how expandalones sell better. But I still selfishly want a single hub to load up to select where my journey will be for Gears/Halo/etc. Related to this, its annoying when they make us relearn an entirely new and different menuing system for each new game.

…e, Doom Eternal is a 2020 game. If someone says 2020, that’s no points. But if someone says 2018, (or 2022), that’s two points. The winner is the player with the lowest points. The buzzer is used by the player who thinks they know what the year is. But in a reversion, the player who didn’t buzz has to give the year first. Once that player gives the year, the buzzing player can then give the year. The player who buzzes first always has the advantage of holding the answer, while the other has to guess. Because giving a year is far easier than having to work out synonyms, a time limit of between 10-15 seconds can be given before a round ends. Hints can be given either by a) decades (eg. games between 2005-15 or games between 2000-2010), or by b) generations (eg. 360/PS3, or OG Xbox only)

@Hue Good question about comic book hero games, if we got something from shows or movies I think I’d actually like to see a Johanna Constantine game (played by Jenna Coleman from the Sandman show and supposedly they’re looking at doing a spin off show of her version of the character), and an Ant Man game could also be interesting I think.

Also to the crew, thanks for the answers on CoD, I had bought the newer first two modern warfares but never played, and I don’t think I finished anything other than the original modern warfare, mw2 and Ghosts so will have to try Advanced Warfare. Pretty sure I bought it and I know I bought the controller for that. I think I own at least one or two more on disc that I never played as well.

YT likes to take a real long time to process the video to download it for the audio feed and @Sikamikanico is the one that uploads it all to spotify (which you can tie to your patreon I believe)

I am UK based but dont worry! Wasnt meant as a moan like I say, and I didn’t realise it was uploaded to Spotify on Sunday’s. I usually make it half way through the live show and need to go to sleep as its late, but now I know it’s there on Spotify on a Sunday my problem is solved!

Sucks that the subathon VOD didn’t work, I was ready to have it running while I’m working. All 24 hours.

And I didn’t realize that you make a bit more from YT Premium views as I’m Premium.

Maybe Nick should save some rumour mill stuff for the next subathon, in a pre-recorded fashion, and you can randomly drop them in throughout to reward the people watching live at the moment. Sloth will have to watch all 24 hours.
