XboxEra Community Hangout |OT9| Waiting for Developer_E3

I don’t think what’s in the pipeline is safe. If anything they’re offering more unique experiences. However , at the moment we’re banking on potential, and potential doesnt offer much if there’s no output.

I agree that marketing and engagement is behind others. I think they’ll improve this year

Sequels or Remasters?

Unique experiences? Microsoft is releasing games like Avowed and State of Decay 3 because they know they’ll be a success and they have elements already implanted in popular culture.

Where’s Phantom Dust? Where is Mech Assault, now would be the perfect time to have a mech assault in development when FromSoftware is starting to work on Armored Core 6, if it’s a success it’s guaranteed to start a trend of mech titles.

What happened to Team Ninja and Koei partnership? Why are they so many developers sign with EA Originals and PlayStation Studios Publishing for 2nd party deals?

They could be doing so much more with how much money they have. Microsoft could be doing more to fill in the gap of first party releases.

Starfield? Absolute hit, if it’s not a mess it’s gonna be a hit guaranteed. It will define Microsofts publishing efforts this gen. But they could still be doing more, they could be giving us high quality double A titles like Rise of the Ronin and Nioh, but they seem to have a problem working with second party and keeping those relationships going.

Microsoft could’ve had Remedy’s Control but they didn’t follow up properly after Quantum Break due to higher sales expectations from corporate.

Safe? Games like Grounded and Pentiment would be flat out cancelled by many publishers and Sony at the acquisition moment.

Both of those games are really cool, keep it going Microsoft. Just do a better job at branding these games for your console, and don’t drop games like bleeding edge immediately.

Imagine what a FromSoftware developed Phantom Dust would be like… open world phantom dust where you can crawl out of your base, explore the lifeless world and maybe even visit new hideouts full of survivors.

The enemies would be terrifying.

im using chrome and i tried it on safari and firefox same thing. i phone 11 btw

any thoughts @Predrag or @Sikamikanico ?

Bleeding Edge released right as the pandemic hit, never stood a chance. Between first and third party this year’s Game Pass offerings are ridiculously diverse. I think they’re doing a good job there, personally.

So 10 months is considered “immediately”?

That’s such a dismissive response and an illogical one. It totally could’ve survived, look how Fallout 76 is doing. People were gaming during the pandemic and devs were working from home. It’s a multiplayer game, it doesn’t require heavy motion capture and stuff.

Playing As Dusk Falls right now, via xCloud on the console, since it takes like 60GB to install and my drive is full. Haven’t tried the cloud in a while and man. this feels like native! Excellent experience tbh.

Now, Xbox still needs to release some proper external drives that doesn’t cost as much as a Series S. Was looking at options for my PS5 since that drive is even smaller… Can get twice the size of the Xbox one for less money wtf.

I mean it literally released right as the pandemic was hitting and the studios were having to swap to WFH. They had no content for an incredibly long time, and by the time things were back to running like normal the game was completely dead. It’s not dismissive, it’s a fact.

Bleeding Edge was developed by a small team of no more than 20 developers, how do you expect the game to be supported for long time with that number of developers , besides that the pandemic hit in 2022 and closed everything , And the comparison with Fallout 76 is weird .

Fallout 76 has an entire development team at Bethesda behind the game + external studios that help them

Hire an external studio? What’s the point of releasing a game just to die, and didn’t Nina Theory spend around 3 years developing Bleeding Edge???

more sequels but literally want them to stop making gears

and i guess, halo infinite, wasteland 3, psychonauts 2, forza horizon 5, flight sim 2020 and AOE4 aren’t sequel-y enough
