Think a spin off in a different genre is fine. I am not interested in a game close enough to traditional Halo that plays signifigantly differently.
If we get a spin off, Sci fi RPG or don’t make it.
I am down for a spin-off, BUT in a different genre. Leave the FPS roots to 343i as they have nailed the gameplay itself.

At this rate, everyone will just freeze on everything because based on their logic, they will hate the company for layoff and not buy their stuff. I guess you will save massive amount of money, though if food corporation does it, you’ll starve. That will be everyone.

Lttp I guess but I think Phil’s words were misunderstood, intentionally, what is even sadder. I took his message was more a criticism towards the general negativity and hate in the videogames industry, rather than a call to “cancel” cancellation culture or something like that.
For folks who are averse to Xbox, this just another excuse to shit on the brand and the man, funnily enough, making him right in the way. That thread on SonyEra is straight up embarrasing.

The guy has a history of that. He did the same thing when there were bad news about Bethesda. He made a tweet to killed Grounded & Outer Worlds and put Obsidian on Fallout, now that 343 got bad news again… he tweet about giving Halo to ID Software. Any bad news from Xbox expect Ryan hot take of giving this franchise to another studio lol.
No bro, 343 need to own the mess they made with Halo no other studio should be put into that position of trying to fix Halo. No spinoff ID need to make their own game first.
i rather not, ID is makig Quake and Doom. I don’t think they even want to work on Halo.

It also seems the crazy Era is the only place where folks outrage like madman, nowhere else I see people having a problem with it. I guess it was to be expected. They even started comparing him to Jim Ryan’s weird talks, lmao.

Obviously it should be Double Fine making a Halo spin-off, Tim Schafer already said he’d do it. 
Personally I think gamers now days are too rigid in things like this. It would be fun to see different games being made by new studios. Let’s not forget Forza got new life through a new studio and fresh approach through Forza Horizon.

Yes, which is what people should ask for. Basically, you would want a Halo spin-off game alas Gears of War Judgment. It doesn’t have to be the mainline.

Its going to be a Good day for all the youtubers and twitter fanboys including Xbox ones as this news will provide them more YouTube revenue.
Be ready for a lot of hot takes, disinformation and doom and gloom scenarios for the coming weeks.
The Halo news will be milked to death and it will give them opportunity to shat on 343 even more (cough cough Gaz and Colt). At this point i feel that no matter whatever positive or negative happens to Halo the fanbase are going to shit on the game even if some other studio makes it and are going to be unhappy regardless, as they themselves don’t know what they want.

If what people said about Jason the journalist is true about anti-Xbox, I image in my head of that scene from South Park where Gerald went troll mode, type in lots of troll post with a montage music playing, and having a time of his life. He may be doing his job, but I bet he was overjoyed.

Unsure if I should move on from the Halo topic, but I’ll say it. I don’t think ID is a perfect match for mainline Halo game. I feel strongly that 343 nails the gameplay in their Halo games, but their issues seem to be content wise and lets be real the Doom games are mainly just a great single player experience, but were medicore multiplayer experience. People need to remember Halo is like COD where it has expectations of being a great single player and multiplayer game and I don’t think ID is perfect match for that. However, I don’t mind them or others working on a spinoff. 343 issue seems to be mainly with management, so hopefully they’ve figured that out because I still feel they can deliver a premier Halo experience
