I just noticed that Hogwarts Legacy is only 60 euros on disc here. But it’s 75 euros digitally in the store.
Make it make sense.
You’d think digital would be cheaper.
I myself noticed it’s $60 ($80 CAD) on Steam but $70 ($90 CAD) on next gen consoles. Makes a lot of sense, huh?
$70 being a “necessity” is a sham.
Also Dead Island 2 is trying to get away with being $99.99 digital for some insane reason

The days of the digital should be cheaper fantasy are long gone. Should it be cheaper? Absolutely. Costs are lower and as a result profit margins are higher, but 100% of that went to the companies. The shift to digital happened without forcing the publishers to lower prices and we are now stuck with it. But you know taking into account inflation, games are cheaper than they’ve ever been…eyes $120 editions of games and endless DLC. Yep, never been cheaper…

$98.99 but yes, that’s the standard edition. Dead Island 2 of all games is the most expensive game launching in Canada.
Yep. Thankfully for most games me and my brother split the costs, but he isn’t interested in Hogwarts, so it’s either gonna be disc for me or sites like Eneba. Thank god they exist.
Sweet lord almighty, you’d think that’s an error but probably not.
Not that necessarily “makes sense”, but physical tend to be more competitive in pricing since you can buy it from any number of stores where digital doesn’t really need to be. It was very consistent here last generation, the RRP would be £60 but physical editions would typically launch at £50. It’s made the step up to the new prices all the more rougher cause they effectively went from £50 to £70 here and haven’t really dipped back down to be competative.
Because why not.

I can’t help but feel like this game won’t offer much outside of HP fan service. Everything game play wise looks so underwhelming.
I’m randomly reminded that Neogaf is mentioned in the ending of Sunset Overdrive and how dated that is now lol

I completely forgot about that lol. Also reminds me they paid to have a Gaf reference in Pillars of Eternity, which is a shame because I don’t want Bishop of all people tarnishing one of my favourite games with his presence.
