They reap the rewards without the financial risks. Funding a game like TR is expensive and sales of said franchise over the last few games haven’t been that phenomenal.

I think Embracer is short on funds these days. I am surprised that MSFT did not foot the bill for Tomb Raider, however now we know that one of those partners that Embracer mentioned was Amazon.

I am wondering if it launches on Luna Day 1

Curious to see where the new game lands in terms of design, hopefully it will be closer to the 360 era TR games than the latest trilogy. Less combat, more puzzles & exploration and actually decent platforming mechanics would be cool though I definitely don’t have high hopes for this.

This is exactly what I want from a TR game but I feel they are never gonna go in that direction

I get the impression devs either don’t want to do that or do but are worried that it won’t appeal to “casuals”

The most likely thing is probably open-world, they initially wanted the reboot to be open-world iirc.

I really good that’s just not true. A short expandalone spin-off would’ve bean great with Abby and Lev but for full fledged main stuff I really want ND to make new stuff

They do have multiple teams, the team who made Uncharted 4 should have a game out next and I’d guess they’re working on a new IP.

I’m on board with dinosaur’s as the central antagonist force.

The interesting part of this news is the open acknowledgement of planning new Warcraft games in the future, maybe they’re optimistically looking forward to finally getting to make Warcraft 4 under Microsoft?
