XboxEra Community Hangout |OT9| Waiting for Developer_E3

Wait till Sony copys Microsoft again and has a PS 6 S. Remember, Karma always triumphs.

Series S is like a cross for devils :joy: Or a sun for vampires

NISA is still bringing over Raiden IV x Mikado, so I guess this will be next.

And I guess this is a good time to ask, since 2 different NISA events have happened now where they skipped Xbox on every game (except for Raiden IV which wasn’t even a new announcement), but @Shpeshal_Nick , yes or no, have you heard of anything else regarding NISA and Xbox, besides Raiden IV?

I’ll be honest, I hate the sheer amount of elitism in the gaming space. Not everyone can afford $500+ consoles or $1,000+ graphics cards. I personally know several people who had to scrape and save just to afford a Series S.

I also have a hard time taking devs seriously when they complain about hardware that’s more powerful than lower specced PC parts that they also have to account for.

I just want MS to stop buying up the entire industry! Why can’t they just invest in their underperforming studios, which only put out bad games! No that one doesn’t count. No, that one is multiplatform so it doesn’t count either. I can tolerate them being in the industry as long as they don’t do anything that might possibly affect me, for good or ill.

I refuse to acknowledge that games take time to make and COVID-19 screwed up a lot of stuff! Will there even be an industry left? They’re going to make everything Game Pass exclusive, a concept that probably exists, don’t feel like checking. They did big exclusivity deals two generations ago, you know, GTAIV DLC is one to one comparable! And remember Embrace, Extend, Extinguish and the antitrust case?

I think that all acquisitions are hostile takeovers, and MS started this arms race of snatching up devs! The industry would stay exactly the same, there definitely wouldn’t be layoffs or shuttered studios or other megacorporations buying everything out. Consolidation is bad, I can say that without reservation. No, that one doesn’t count. No, that one either, because they had a history. No, that history with Microsoft doesn’t count.

I’ve never had to wait out timed exclusivity more than 6 months, but I can definitely weigh in on it. Has everyone forgotten that the MSRP for the Elite v2 is 180 dollars? That’s almost as much as 200, and never mind that discounts are frequent or that you can get points to make that purchase easier.

Et cetera ad nauseam. Now you can spend that time playing games instead

Edit: Forgot “that’s just business though, MS can do that too.”

I would have preferred this too, and I’ll be very irritated if a great opportunity passes them by. I live in fear of waking up to “Netease acquires Sega” regardless of how outlandish it is. I do understand that they’re pushing for the mobile market though, and that if they are indeed trying to set up an app store of their own, having Candy Crush and CoD Mobile would be a massive boon, plus probably Fortnite Vbucks discounts.

There is a benefit actually for Xbox when rich companies like Saudi’s or Tencent buy third party companies (if Microsoft does not buy them) - those companies don’t need to bow to Sony or accept marketing deals as they have the resources to do that themselves. In fact the negotations between them and Microsoft would be simpler as Microsoft might offer something to Tencent or Saudi and vice versa (cloud, Windows related etc). Unlike Sony.

For example if Saudi owned Capcom before, they would not have problems with funding Street Fighter 5 and thus it would not be exclusive.

Well, the endgame is the app store that not only has all the apps that are available in Google / Apple store but also Game Pass benefits and othe perks in games (Candy Crush, Diablo Immortal, COD Mobile, Warzone Mobile, Fallout Shelter) etc.

Entire industry is enormously big that even T2 + EA + ABK, won’t move the needle much. Mobile is huge and PC gaming with League of Legends, various MMOs, CS, Valorant etc. is also huge.

Hell, finally. You better play Persona 5 or else I’m gonna personally kick your ass.

Nah, I have ideological reasons for preferring Sony to those two. That whole first part was a bit, by the way.

If there wasnt a series S i likely would have had to wait until half way through the generation befoee buying (and probably preowned at that). Im so glad the budget friendly option is there.

I will say as someone who has multiple consoles its nice to have options on both sides. I have a Series x, wife has a series s and kid has a one x and will get a series s eventually. I also have a ps5 regular and digital one for upstairs and downstairs. I like having cheaper options. Im positive next gen sony will have a series s verion of the ps6

At least somebody is questioning exclusivty deals

I hope this helps give exposure to the utter hypocrisy Sony is feeding.

I watched the trailer and did nothing for me, though.

I really hope the deal goes through because the talent at IW and all the support studios are stunning. Played the first three missions of MW2 and wow does this game look gorgeous and have epic gunplay and a great atmosphere.

I think with more acquisitions, more Game Pass exposure people will question time exclusive deals more and more because consumers simply do not benefit from them and Sony does a lot of anti-consumer decisions.

Forgot that RE Showcase is today

Yeah, good to see that they too realize very well that FF16 likely won’t ever see the light of day on Xbox. With SH2 remake they make it clear its 12 months, not with FF16.

Meh, they can have it.
