Yeah, I think at best Sony can just prevent Xbox release and that’s it. In Japan Sony has no chances to get anything exclusive that can come to Switch.

I’m not in the camp that Square’s Switch/PS/PC games skip Xbox because of Sony so I’m not expecting that. I expect they want MS to pay which they will for DQ12 I’m sure.

It looks like DQ3HD is 2023 and DQ12 is 2024 I think. At this stage I think DQ12 could be a Switch 2 title… I wonder if it will be the first game announced for it again, like how DQ11 was the first ever game announced for “Nintendo NX”, much before the system was properly revealed.

I’m just excited to see the seams on the Switch 2 gates start coming apart lol.

I am pretty sure that we’ll see evolved locusts/new enemy types in Gears 6, they probably won’t be hellish gargoyles though. I believe that there is still a lot of cool designs/concepts that can be created within the Locust template, there is no reason for Gears to jump the shark to make things interesting.

I agree that series with established lore shouldn’t just add things for the sake of it, especially if it goes against said lore, like if Gears suddenly started having literal angels in the world it’d be very strange

But in terms of those designs or Locust starting to develop wings or demon-esque qualities or evolve in ways that feel very different than before, I dont think that’s all that out there or breaking any major established lore or history that would be jumping the shark as you said

Sci-fi b tier/movie schlock whatever there are some rules in it’s world/lore that need to be followed, otherwise it could become comical if they decide to add anything that comes to their mind just to be cool. At least that’s my opinion.

Suikoden is back too, though that one will be multiplatform. If what we heard about Sony wanting Final Fantasy to be associated with PlayStation is true, I can see them doing the same for Metal Gear Solid as well. Sucks, though.
