True. It’s gonna be harder to price $70 on Steam, and is gonna look bad if they keep Steam at $60 while Console $70. Game Pass on Steam might help honestly.
To be honest, I think this could be just as important as the wage bargaining. I’ve looked at jobs at Zenimax and didn’t apply because they don’t appear to offer remote work and it’s a little too far for me to want to commute to every day or even every week.
Also the second part here is something that has me looking for other opportunities in the first place, I’ve seen too many cases of well connected incompetents getting promoted over people with actual experience and skill and education, and managers who don’t understand what people do making decisions on who gets promoted. While time in job isn’t the only thing that should matter, it often does correspond to some additional knowledge of the role and should be a factor in promoting. So if the union would allow for those things, it could be just as advantageous as just the ability to have fair wage rates that aren’t arbitrary. Nice to see them not getting in the way, and hope it helps level the playing field for them. They’re definitely right that 22.50 for skilled qa is lower than other software companies may pay.
This was back in 2020. Sony wanted $80 but settled on $70.
spent my day finalizing prep for co-streaming The Game Awards. I’m thinking of using re-stream for it and putting it live on both our YouTube and Twitch channels at the same time. Should be fun!
Should be going live for the pre-show (I’ll most likely put it up on its own in the going live screen, we’ll show up a few minutes before 8pm est)
Damn they are probably aiming for 90 now then.
na just go to 100 I say. Playstation is premium …yup
The sad part is that they’d get away with it if it wasn’t for Microsoft successfully competing and changing the status quo and mindshare that exists.
Offcourse I will always praise xbox because it is not about accepting $70 priced games… I don’t even have to pay $60 for the games
Gamepass rocks🤘
It’s been a very long day, so I don’t have time for a lengthy reply - but here are some quick thoughts:
- I didn’t make any claims about MS’s profit generation at any price. However, it should be obvious that if costs increase due to inflation, while prices are constant, that profit will fall.
- Being profitable is an extremely low threshold. If the entirety of MS makes one penny of profit in a year then it is technically profitable - but obviously that will not lead to a healthy firm.
- As consumers and fans of Xbox we have competing incentives/desires. We want what is best for our pocketbook (we want good deals), while also wanting great games, which (generally speaking) are expensive to make. Yet we also need Xbox to make enough profit for MS to want to continue to invest in the business and grow it. There is a natural tension between these desires and sometimes one of them has to be sacrificed - at least temporarily - to serve the others.
I’m not sure if you were seriously asking me a question about why prices might fall quickly or not. There are good answers to that question - and some posters already gave some insight on them. This reply is already long enough, so I won’t go into detail. But, if you really want to know the answer to the question I suggest you google the terms The Law of Demand, Market Segmentation, and Consumer Surplus.
Make sense, Spiderman 2 is what 2024…
So Yeah Wolverine atleast 2025-2026
Spider-Man 2 is 2023. Wolverine I don’t expect till 2025
Spiderman mght have been 2023, but im betting it get delay to 2024
Hmm maybe. Insomniac are very efficient.
Why are people even reporting on this… It is known this game is not coming anytime soon
I think they expected it to arrive the following year after Spider-Man 2. Funny, if the latter gets delayed, Xbox would be like “First time” in terms of first-party games.
The Kinda Funny Xcast 2 year Series console review was a good watch. I really liked that Gary Whitta mentioned the closed proprietary and price of the expansion cards being the biggest hardware issue, it really needs to be addressed.
Tell em Jenna!
She recently said she loved Game Pass too, truly the best value in gaming is what he says. She’s talking facts, which I always like.
