XboxEra Community Hangout |OT9| Waiting for Developer_E3

If it’s in front of a live audience, I can easily see the crowd booing/being dead silent. Go back to 2019 when Keanu Reeves is on stage for Cyberpunk 2077 and then look at their 2022 showcase with their 12 month plan. Yeah, the crowd wouldn’t be happy especially since they would be spending a lot of money in order to go to E3 and experience the showcase live.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard E3 crowd booing but yeah silence is an often thing. And I think if their show is similar to last year’s it should just be a digital showcase again.

With a live audience for the first time in four years, maybe they wouldn’t boo but I wouldn’t be shocked if they did because they would be expecting one hell of a showcase.

I really don’t think that will be the case, for one, the people there at E3 aren’t just there for MS. Second, no one is going to boo a MS/Bethesda/ABK show that focuses on games from those publishers lol.

If people didn’t boo “Kinect” , “Skittles the Tiger” or Usher at past E3s I doubt they’ll boo over the show being similar to this year’s.

The “Fan” portion of the audience will cheer for literally anything they show (because that’s what they do, lol). The “Journalist” portion of the audience will take it in and not respond because I doubt most of them actually want to be there in the first place.

No one is going to boo. If you don’t believe me, just go back and watch every Ubisoft press conference. If they won’t boo that shit, they won’t boo anything.

The only time a publisher might get booed is if they start showing mobile games at nauseam.

Funny enough, MS would probably be the most likely one out of the big 3 to show off mobile games at a showcase lmao.

Basically to sum it up, it TAKES a lot to get booed, let alone booed off the stage. I don’t think anyone has to worry about that.

Just had an MRI done and after an hour and a half in that inperial torture device, straight out of Andor, I need an outlet to say…FUCK THAT MOTHERFUCKIN MACHINE, RIGHT IN IT’S ROBOT ASS!!!

Thank you

Didn’t Blizzard get booed for showing Diablo Immortal? However I think that might’ve been Blizzcon and not E3

Yeah it was at Blizzcon and it was pretty funny.

Yeah, but I think there had been rumours of a Diablo 4, but instead Immortal was revealed. It was a great example of the rumours being speculation that ended up being a curse for a project.

This is half the reason. The bigger reason was that Blizzcon is full of hardcore PC players and they showed up to the event with a mobile game at the time.

It is a case of know your audience when you do any sort of marketing event.

I enjoyed my playthrough of Hivebusters but to me it just felt like traditional Gears

  1. I want to see things like high levels of environmental destruction

  2. increased gore/enemies lose limbs causing them to act differently

  3. massively expanded melee system (you have guns with chainsaws on them, they can be more innovative that holding b to chainsaw an enemy)

  4. vastly different combat encounters, something that enhances the basic lancer/shotty/snub weapon gameplay (upgrades/mods/places you can purchase new weapons etc)

It doesn’t have to be those things exactly but just things that feel like they are trying something new, i’l give them credit for trying with the open areas of Gears 5 but quite frankly, I feel that’s the opposite direction the series should be going, it just added nothing to the game, outside of that and smoother, refined movement the games have barely evolved from Gears 1 in 06

I still love Gears and it’s been my most played series since the first game probably but the last thing I want is them pumping these games out with nothing changed and them becoming less and less relevant because of it, Gears felt as big as Halo in the 360 days and it can be a behemoth again if done right

Would not be surprised if that does exist.

Same as with Kena. That ain’t coming to Xbox anymore.

Very soon has been extended just like the exclusivity for FF7R

:phil_lmao:

All kidding aside…

I do wonder about some of the indie games just not coming to Xbox for some reason. Does Sony pay them infinitely or something? Don’t these studios want the extra cash? Same as that game with the Rabbit, it was by Microids I think.

And Kena, they don’t want Xbox or GP money?

I honestly do think the timed exclusivity on that game is over but MS is not in any rush to get it on Xbox because the next 2 entries are timed exclusives again. Best to wait till they’re all released.
