At least these big corporations seem to behave and work with each other, but they are big tech giants that can basically change everyone’s live in an instant. Look at what YouTube is doing with ads that are slowly getting more and more egregious.
But of course Musk is using that as to get the attention of off him. He’s trying to make himself look better than them, but he’s worse as he seems to have no limits and just try to bend everyone and everything to his will until it breaks. He acts like a toddler and he’s dangerous in the short term.
Big tech giants are shaping our lives in the long term, so it’s less scary and we are more prone to adapt. That is the difference.
This year was super disappointing in terms of big stuff. It has been quite quiet in terms of updates except for a interview with Todd Howard and some updates on Redfall. Seeing something from big upcoming games next week would go a long way, give us something that we can look forward to. Hellblade 2 last year was such a nice surprise.
I’ll believe it when I see, that’s just where I’m at with everything right now. Plenty of stuff coming both first party and multiplatform, but will we really see all the first party games in the upcoming six months? I just don’t want to get my hopes up too much.
Maybe having heard “just wait” so many times makes one so skeptical, lol.
I saw that the runtime was nearly 2hrs 45mins and assumed it would have a lot of non-interview time, but I selected a few spots on random and Todd Howard was always there…
Todd says there are around 100-star systems which are gated like areas in an open world where if you are too weak you can’t go to that place. Other robots besides Vasco are more for utility and combat. Lots of cool tidbits about Starfield in that video.
Would be cool if you’re also gated off systems based on your spaceship’s capabilities and have to upgrade and add parts specific to the systems’ gravitational force, atmospheres, and location etc.
The question is how grindy it will be to unlock the ability to travel to those systems? After all it is basically a gatekeeping and people might not want to grind just to move forward with the game.
The golden path / main quest-line shouldn’t be grindy at all
However for all the side content some grind is likely necessary and that should also scale with the difficulty, and perhaps there would be more involved difficulty/mode options where the simulation and management mechanics are toned down or up according you what you want out of it.
With mods rolling with time, it’d be almost impossible for the majority of content to be gatekept on grinding or difficulty though
Well, modding support is an entirely different beast
I just don’t want it to be as annoying as settlment system.
I also wonder if it directly related to leveling up the ship Like to level up, you need to improve it characteristics and gain the ability to proceed further (like leveling up the character)
I am not sure. I remember I was doing some settlement building at FO4 at some point but I am not sure if it was an optional activity or a part of the story.
There’s a bunch of stuff where settlements gave you benefits and some side quests had you build or acquire a settlement but all in all it was optional. That said I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some cool side story content based on settlements, I can’t pretend to know everything about the game lol
