I played TR reboot countless times. I loved Rise and played it plenty as well. I even liked the polarizing Shadow quite enough, but those games had very garbage stories and characters indeed.

The problem is that all recent TR were trying to be uncharted. They forgot what made TR interesting in the first place (outside of like lack of third person action game competitions)

I would be interested to see what an Amy Hennig helmed Tomb Raider game would look like.

wrong post, my bad

I don’t think that was an issue, there’s an appetite for that sort of game. They just didn’t nail the storytelling.

The heart of the og TR games were platforming and exploration . There was combat but not much of it and mostly had Lara shooting animals and the occasional T-Rex. I’ve been told that Shadow of The Tomb Raider was closer to this. I should get around to playing it one of these days. (I’ve owned it since launch)

They need to go back to basics with TR, a strong, sexy badass, I don’t need this whole relatable daddy issues nonsense

Lara in a cave, exploring for artifacts and doesn’t take shit from anybody, just give me that

Thanks for sharing, I am still hopeful that it’s a possibility :crossed_fingers:t2::crossed_fingers:t2::crossed_fingers:t2:

Maybe I will finally be pushed to replay the game for the Blood and Wine DLC.

I thought Tomb Raider 2013 did Uncharted better than Uncharted. :smile: At least as far as being a third person shooter. Loved that game.

Also don’t see any problem comparing TLOU to a well-regarded dramatic film. TLOU is just about the peak of the medium in terms of acting and cinematic…ism (is that a word?). At least in my subjective opinion. The actors’ performances in that game definitely affected me on an emotional level like a good film can.

I just want the Lara and the game design from the previous Crystal Dynamics trilogy (TR Anniversary, Legend, Underworld) back. These were fun games.

@Staffy

Wait, apparently

And tying into this batch of free DLC is an all-new quest, “In the Eternal Fire’s Shadow”.

Not sure if that’s with the Netflix Show stuff, but it’s a new quest.

CDPR truly is amazing. That showcase is awesome. Next to visuals there is plenty of new stuff, even a new camera mode!

im very ok with this. I do wonder still if we get mid gen refreshes. I honestly dont think we need them but would still buy if they did release

TLOU2 has more praise than players playing the game. But it’s understandable, when the studio is more concerned with too many unnecessary animations and over-the-top CGI than building a game with replay value.
