E3 is in June next year…
I think we’re past that part…rushing, especially when it comes to Avowed. If we look at what they said last year it’s long, long overdue.
And if Redfall and Starfield are planned for first half of 2023, showing updates on these games in (November I think XO usually is?) would not what I’d call rushing. But i guess it all depends on if the devs want to take time off of development for this.
I don’t think they have to show Avowed, Contraband or anything else before E3 unless they are soon in the second half. Like July or August. I’d still love to see them of course.
They will need to find a place to show off their other 2023 first half games though. At a minimum just to get them dated. That could be XO or it could just be regular updates. I do think a game of the scope of Redfall or especially Forza and Starfield would need an ample showing with release date.
Game development is getting more and more complicated, and devs need more time. I know gamers are not happy, but that’s not going to change anything.
Errr…well this sucks. Soul hackers 2 is part of summer spotlight but i pre ordered the deluxe and its not counting towards the summer spotlight 50 dollar status.
Yep, but I meant next to E3 also GC being a stage show or a stream with brand new reveals as well. But I probably have to remember that next year they might do the 12 months thing again, so we’ll just get updates on whatever E3 had at GC. Xbox had GC shows with new reveals that weren’t at E3 that same year, but those were different times.
They showed Hellblade last year in December, I would say any day is a good day to show off future games. I really hope they have another cool gameplay reveal at TGA this year. I loved how the show started with a Xbox exclusive.
That’s true. But devs have shown that they still take the time out to showcase their game. Today Glen Schofield from Striking Distance studios was at the show to briefly talk about The Callisto Protocol and show the new gameplay clip. I’m just hoping 2022 still has some stuff in store when it comes to updates on their big games. We have to wait and see if XO happens this year. If so, I would reckon they have some stuff in store.
That does suck.
Lies of P definitely shot up to one of my most anticipated games for next year after that trailer. Looks like a combo of Bloodborne and American McGee 's Alice. Sold!
Dead Island 2 looks phenomenal, so much better than what I expected after all the radio silence. Definitely going to be a busy February for me between that and Hogwarts Legacy!
May be its just me, every time I see a snippet of gameplay from callisto protocol I think about how much I miss dead space
Something about callisto protocol is not grabbing me. Feels like a inferior version of Dead space.

Dead Island 2 – Reveal Gameplay Trailer
The man know his taste. It has been said multiple times, the content delivery needs work but the design and the fundamentals of Halo Infinite can’t be denied. Also cool to see acknowledgment of Xbox games (that isn’t Minecraft) from Japanese dev.
High on Life looks so good in this trailer. Really cool locations, please don’t let it get delayed further though. I look forward so much to this.
Sakurai is a very talented dude that he loves videogames in general. And I am pretty sure that Japanese developers enjoy, respect and acknowledge Xbox games…they know very well (just like every other developer in the world actually) how hard it is to make games with great mechanics that also feel amazing to play like Halo, Gears or Forza or making a world as enticing and beautiful as Psychonauts.
