With MS accusing Sony of paying pubs to keep their games off of Game Pass I can’t help but wonder what kind of bigger games we could have gotten by now and could have been coming up.
We always assumed it was either that the pub just wasn’t interested or MS didn’t pay enough, but if the accusation is true, which wouldn’t shock me at all…well…
With MS soon closing the ABK deal, absolutely having leverage with CoD I hope this BS dies down.
I think the Spider-Man issue is slightly different.
As Spider-Man was one of the ‘newer’ characters created in 1962 the public domain law shouldn’t apply until 2057. I think the issue with Spidey is that the Ditko estate are suing Disney for copyright claiming that the original creator can claim full ownership after X years (2023 for Spider-Man) under a different copyright law. TBH although I hate big corporations taking on families I think Disney will easily win this. Disney’s argument is Ditko was a Marvel employee so any work he created while employed by Marvel is Marvel’s IP not Ditko’s.
Yeah, I think ABK deal will have serious repercussions for Sony. When 70b can be thrown in the market - it is a big deal.
The CEO really seems like he is in it for his interest in games. Selling and losing control and ownership doesn’t really mix with that.

PSN is garbage, the backend is terrible. It took years just to allow name changes. It will take serious investment and overhaul for it to be improved. Until then theres going to be issues with all of their services.
