Dunno if that’s believable TBH because Devolver Digital usually puts games on GP pretty quickly and Cult of the Lamb isn’t really something that really is going to shift a lot of GP subs
I don’t understand how he has a following. He does remind me of the same type of person who currently is being sued but obviously not remotely as bad, just the same vibe.
This is true, Devolver Digital is absolutely killing it and if MS gets a deal with them were all of their games come to GP day 1 that’s going to be a big deal
The big thing GP and MS has going for them is if they allow the game to still be sold everywhere but it’s just on GP that’s going to help these deals a lot. If these publishers can collect sales on PS+Nintendo+PC+Xbox AND get a lumpsum upfront to include it in GP that can be a big boon.
I know to me I don’t care where the game is, if I get to play it on GP I am a happy camper. It’s the thing Sony is only going to hurt themselves by locking things down, if Xbox does these sort of deals plus claw back a fair bit of marketshare it’s going to be very hard for Sony and I highly doubt these companies are going to be loyal to Sony because of the past 8 years, they follow the money, FFS we might be getting Death Stranding on GP lol.
Hope I’m not being rude and obviously I’m noone to tell anyone what to see and listen to but…if it annoys you why bother watching their podcast?
Its as if a ps fanboy watched the latest xbox 2 podcast and then complains saying “these xbox fanboys are delusional! They said SONY was scared shitless when the ABK acquisition was announced and now they are desperate!! Lololo” doesnt seems “productive” to me when they both have bias over different brands
Embracer Group has acquired Limited Run Games, Tripwire Interactive, The Lords of the Rings IP rights and more. Just keep scrolling down on Wario’s actual twitter account to see all the acquisitions.
Can they make LRG better? As it stands if a Japanese game’s only physical release in the West is through LRG then it’s better to just import the JP version. At least you’ll actually get it the same year you ordered it. They should eliminate all the false advertising of merchandise that comes with their special editions and whatnot too.

There are still some restrictions for example, with Mickey Mouse if another company tried to use it and Disney felt it was a poor representation they could argue/sue that if would impact Disney’s brand as Mickey is synonymous with Disney. Therefore I can’t ever see another company trying to use Mickey without Disney’s permission (I guess we will see what happens in 2024 ).
