That’s why they have Western studios … oh wait …

Another one saved by the weak yean.

SE reminds me of Acti in the sense of only depending mostly in one IP/game to help them push numbers…the thing is FF has not even a fraction of the popularity of COD and it isn’t massive like COD or some Blizzard IPs (heck, even their mobile part took a hit while King made the majority of US mobile revenue alone) and it seems their “small” HD games initiative is not helping them as I though.

More like another company saved by stable reccuring subscription money.

Just ended Strat and…I would say so far is the most overhyped game of 2022. I guess the mayor appeal of it is to play as a cat or to have some kind of cat simulator, but there’s nothing much aside from that. It has a great art design though.

I don’t expect it at all, but Quakecon COULD have Starfield news. Skyrim was shown there too if I’m not mistaken. But probably not.

Recently we were talking about this game and that a tweet said it was coming to Xbox too. But on the official website there is no mention of Xbox at all.

Maybe it is coming, maybe it is not. We will see.

Do they even have much left except for Japanese games? Life is Strange is one I know of, Just Cause…

I assume the Just Cause IP will be sold off, not sure what western orientated IP/Studios they still have?

SE are really going back to a full japanese studio/publisher. After they mismanaged SE West and the rise of anime style/japanese games not a a surprise.

I can’t think of any, and those are publishing deals not in house studios.

Ah yes Life is Strange… That would be a good get.

Square Enix don’t know what they are doing, do they?

Square still owns the Hitman IP I believe. MS should get their hands on it and then acquire IOI.

Basically they want to get investment akin Tencent and Ubisoft and want to do some joint ventures with companies. However, just as before, I don’t see SE selling.

Anyway, this week podcasts are gonna be lit :fire:

  • SE’s desire to sell stakes
  • Tencent investment in Ubisoft
  • MS vs Sony fighting in regulator documents (cannot wait for ILP :joy:)
  • Xbox Family Plan
  • Xbox Series S memory increase

Square Enix is hilarious. On one hand their Western Division was underperforming and didn’t meet their sale targets. On the other hand it cannibalized sales of their japanese games.

:doge:
