Exactly, haters are the minority, always have being and don’t represent the reality of things.
Yeah, it sucks. I wish Bethesda would double in size, they have MS money so it’s not impossible.
Yeah, some of the CoD factories could move haha.
Preproduction for 4 years is a lot right? Goddamn. You’d think 2026 isn’t unrealistic. I mean Starfield is taking a long ass time to make but that’s a brand new IP, new engine, new systems etc. All of that is ready for development of TES VI.
Well, we can only wait and see and in the meantime have one hell of a time with Starfield and all the other RPG goodness coming.
That would be really good! Hope it happens. It could speed things up and we know Todd would love that.
ES6 shouldnt take as long as Starfield, it had to have its engine get overhauled as the game was in dev which they’ve said that the upgrades will be used for ES6
Not to mention Starfield is of a scale that goes well beyond what BGS have attempted before and is a new IP, that brings many challenges and slows progress, ES6 is an established IP that knows it’s tone, lore and an engine that’s ready to go
I do wonder what they plan on doing with ES6 though, you obviously cant have the same scale/scope as something like space, so do they go all in on making more advanced AI, so a much smaller world that’s available in Starfield but more in depth systems
and while id love for BGS to greatly expand to twice it’s size, maybe its something Todd wants to avoid, the bigger the team the harder it can be to keep everyone on the same page
I don’t feel like team size is the only hold up, it’s the creative team that wants things their way and to only have one project in focus.
Yeah they are all Todds babies so having both in full production might not be feasible as he cant give them all his attention at once
Todd’s getting old and needs to start building some (plural) successors
Todd and co should be willing to offer another creative team the chance for a spin-off at least. Imagine a collaboration between Obsidian, InXile, and BGS. Todd and his team can focus on TES6 while giving some input and advice on the side like they did wigh New Vegas. Creatively, InXile and Obsidian are more than capable to handle Fallout, it just needs to be something they’d like and also Todd agrees on. That way, we could see a Fallout around 27-28 ![]()
Having Fallout and Elder Scrolls dormant for another 5 years isn’t the best decision. I think Phil should look at stuff like remakes or spinoffs because you can’t be sitting on these popular franchises for 10+ years. Also don’t think Fallout 76 or elder scrolls MMO gets the job done in keeping the franchises active because many want the single player experience that isn’t tied to MP.
@Mort and anyone else that played RDR2 a lot…
How do you keep Arthur fit? He’s too often underweight here and that means more damage from enemies. I eat plenty every day, I have tons of meat in my satchel. I always eat the stew when in camp too.
I do walk and run a lot on foot for hunting, is the game that realistic that I lose weight because of that? How did you keep him normal weight? ![]()
A game where you have to worry about your weight? For God sakes
Yeah, Fallout is essentially the second biggest IP they got out of the acquisition. Waiting 10-12 years to see a new entry from it is probably not optimal business but who knows they might not see it that way.
The game is what I’d call ultra realistic, loved it initially but I’m slightly becoming a little…how you say…wishing some stuff either had options or slightly simplified.
But again, I have been hunting a LOT, perhaps if I had been doing missions with some walking I wouldn’t lose weight so much. And while the damage sucks, dead eye is almost like cheating, so it never gets too hard.
Agreed. Ideal situation would be Obsidian or inXile or like you guys said a team up and have a spin off. We had a report or leak/rumor that it was being discussed at least.
Yeah I think this is whats gonna happen
MS will absolutely not want to have FO lay dormant until after ES6 is done, which will be upwards of 10 years by the time a Todd FO5 would release
A spin off like Vegas would mean MS gets a FO quicker and Todd still gets to do the main game
It does mean that a team like Obsidian would want to do it instead of their own IPs and even a spin off would be a massive undertaking
If there would be a Fallout spin off in 2027 or 2028 it sure would make the wait for Fallout 5 way more bearable. If that were to come out in 2030 or later.
I do miss the times of when we had Fallout 3 and New Vegas so close to each other, I miss the times of having a handful or more of Rockstar games within one console generation. But games get bigger, harder to make, more time etc.
Really hope MS is still considering it and we can only hope Obsidian and/or inXile is up for it, once their own big projects are done that is, which clearly is first Obsidian.
It’s not like they want ES and Fallout to basically be on a 10 year + cycles. The industry is starving for more talent, just because you have the money it doesn’t mean you can suddenly double a 400 + employed studio into 800-1000 over night.
It’s going to take years.
yes , running consumes a lot of energy . Either ride on your horse as much as possible or eat after you’ve been running/sprinting . I used to buy a lot of edibles from the store and ate constantly .
I’m hoping that MS remakes Fallout 1&2 in between games ES6 and Fallout 5
