Project Moorcroft is still being worked on inside Microsoft, but the plan is for curated game demos to start rolling out within the next year. The initial focus will be on independent developers, and any game developer will be compensated and be able to view how their demos perform.

Indie games first then, but maybe the bigger studios will follow later.

Finishing touches on Starfield eh? But this is the same man that said 11-11-22 was written in ink late last year.

Jk

But hopefully that means early 2023 is very likely.

Called it

Over the next 20 years…

In other words…there will absolutely be another console generation after Series and after that probably too.

Really, until they can have streaming feel, look and play as if you are playing on the Xbox…not interested and I’ll keep showing my Xbox love.

The point is that over the next 20 years the market will change. 20 years ago we had DVD and consoles that had internet via dial up…Now we can play Fortnite via browser in the airport so.

They use Series X hardware for the cloud, there’s really no reason to expect consoles to stop being a thing when they need that tech for the cloud anyway

There will always be people that want the pure native experience anyway, as long as people keep buying consoles they have no reason to stop, they still sell things like surface laptops and they are nowhere near as successful as xbox hardware

Considering Xbox much higher digital sales and the fact this is also on GP thats actually an incredibly good ratio for xbox

Personally not worried at all about consoles going away.

For one thing other media players are still around and there will always be a market for a dedicated console I feel, especially as gaming has a unique issue that other media do not encounter and that is the need for low latency and that introduces a load of issues. So a native experience will always be desired. Besides, it is not like you cannot package the server blades into a console, which is what Microsoft did with the Series X.

I wonder if it will have all additional features that browsers have (like this crispy filter or whatever it is called)

Hopefully they are PCs

Nah, I don’t think so. I do curious if ARM will be used eventually there.

From Install Base thread on the Japanese weekly sales result. I guess that Xbox Series are ultimately going to pass the OG Xbox numbers at some point.
