you say this, but Iāve been watching Xbox conferences since the the Xbox 360 days. the last packed show they had with new announcements have all been CGI trailers (these past 2 years). What could they possibly announce?
Microsoft almost never shows vertical slices for their first party titles or gameplay unless its an IGN first a few weeks before release. Itās been this way since 2016.
Things change and really, theyāre gonna have to.
Also, we did have a very nice gameplay deep dive thing for Forza Horizon 5 last year. We already know weāre getting deep dives of Starfield and Redfall. I personally donāt expect gameplay demos/slices for every game they show, and thatās fine. As long as the majority of trailers DOES show gameplay bits and not only CGI.
Showing some tangible stuff in trailers should be the bare minimum in my opinion. Nintendo and Sony donāt show long slices of every single game but they do most of the time have trailers that it at least more than just CGI/cinematic.
The Nintendo method at E3 is doing the Treehouse streams after the show and playing almost every first party games shown on the Direct (and sometimes some third party ones) for like the next 3-5 hours. Theyāre the best at showing gameplay IMO I love the Direct and then Treehouse format.
