Only way I wouldn’t mind a Dead Rising return is in VR

Oh…I like the smile emoji that klob used in that tweet.

But, like I said… we will see, I think there’s a great chance that it can be shown.

On everything except Xbox :phil_unsure:

We already have Dying Light and there is that game announced on State of Play

Dead Rising has had 4 games and the only truly great one was the first and they got progressively worse as they’ve went on

DR has had its chances, SoD has only had 2 games and have been clearly held back by budget

A SoD with a big budget and resources could be really damn good, gimme sick animations, parkour and let me choose to work with or take another players resources leading to tense situations

Because Dead Rising 3 had it’s time. Dino Crisis has been dead for generation and should be revived. Besides, with Resident Evil current games and remakes, Dead Rising isn’t needed. At least with Dino Crisis, it’s dinosaurs which outside of Ark and Second Extinction rarely happen. Yeah, I know Capcom has that ExoPrimal game but ugh, come on. Give me Dino Crisis damn it!!!

This doesn’t even include Dying Light series which are superior to Dead Rising.

Speaking of VR. Xbox really should start to enter the VR-market. There are going to be lots of potential VR games, from Microsoft owned studios.

  • Starfield
  • Elder Scrolls
  • Halo
  • Doom
  • Fallout
  • Dishonored
  • Deathloop
  • Prey
  • Forza
  • Perfect Dark
  • Avowed
  • Call of Duty

They could come out with their solution and quickly become the biggest publisher/platform holder, in that space.

Not every first person game should be VR though…There are rumors about COD VR stuff though.d There is no indication that VR is going to explode in popularity.

Not every game needs to be, but there are already franchises on this list that have VR modes and games.

Take the expertise of Bethesda, ID and Activision and use it.

Which ones on the list has VR mode? TES Skyrim I guess?

VR games require graphics and other stuff changes, introducing this flying hands and special controls etc. Not really worthy as there are too many gimmicks.

I agree with you on Dino Crisis I think they could do both tho aint going to lie ExoPrimal looks cool to me

I dont think sod needs parkour and I may be wrong, but I dont see their investing too much on high fidelity animation as well. Yes, they will improve animation and gfx, but I don’t think it is their focus to make a cinematic level of a game. I put over 400 hs on SOD2 and keep coming back from time to time, I love the game, I love the mechanics and and settings. What I would like to see is bigger maps and connection between them, more base facilities, car types, more survivors and clans variety, weather effects and seasons. Basically expanding the scope of what SOD2 was especially gameplay wise, with a better mainline plot.

Fallout, Skyrim, Doom, Prey, Wolfenstein and Call of Duty all have games or modes in the VR space.

As far as I know, only Fallout, Skyrim and Doom have the main game playable in VR.

Of course it still needs work, but it’s certainly a lot easier if the game is first person from the start.

It’s funny you say that, because I’m pretty sure there has been a statement, that Undead Labs wants to become industry leading in the animation department. :phil_lmao:

It’s such a win/win for Microsoft: They get to expose Xcloud to a whole new audience and they get to stick it to Apple lol.

I think it was either Phil or Matt Booty who said it.

That’s good to know, they will improve for sure and hopefully a lot according to this reports.

It still requires changes for VR controls and stuff. It is not like you just put the headset and start playing.

Imagine what could they achieve if they put MMOs there. Full blown MMOs available via cloud everywhere (including mobile)
