Chrono Cross sales must have sucked. I was planning to buy it but didn’t due to it being a mess.

From the Play Store? No they’re not, just like App Store there’s free and paid, but game sales are mostly bad on Android.
They released two of these SaGa games on Xbox. Not enough people probably bought them on Xbox though.

There is but it’s small and reserved for more popular games. I think it got better in recent years, but it’s still hilarious it gets support from SE while not Xbox.
I have a hard time imagining people buying games on Android. The market has been F2P for ages.
It’s still one of the biggest platforms in the world so I suppose logically even if a fraction of people buy a game/app it’s still worthwhile.
That’s mobile games generally, but premium games still exist on Android. Just bad sales overall save for very popular games.

I just don’t see people willing to pay $ in advance to play on mobile. Maybe when the gaming market - console, PC and mobile - consolidates it might happen but I rather believe that the games will pivot to F2P. It just broaden the access to the game.

I don’t think these retro JRPG ports sell well on Xbox. That’s just how it is. Xbox got Romancing Saga 2 and 3 and then stopped getting Saga games afterwards.
Some people think Xbox is skipped over some weird malice but remember Ace Attorney Trilogy on Xbox was internally deemed a failure at Capcom so they skipped Xbox with the next game.

Well according to the Google Play stores, 10k+ people bought both Romancing Saga 2 and 3 on there, which seems pretty good to me. I’m not sure how to check the iOS port numbers but I assume they’re just as good. JRPG gamers often prefer handheld devices after all.
10k+ for hundreds of millions of phones is nothing. Very small sales.
