Keep in mind, everyone has different strategy. Nintendo is now doing “show game when it’s really close to ready” rather than announce it and hope it lands like BoTW 2. Sony is quiet on theirs but they’re not strangers to delays. All games releasing here was supposed to be last year. Xbox unloaded theirs last year, but not much this year. Perhaps they will adapt Nintendo’s strategy or not, we don’t know. This is just the way how the world works now.
That’s actually a good point. All of Sony’s first party games were supposed to release last year, so technically the games Sony planned this year have been delayed to 2023 internally, unless they had nothing.
After GoWR, they only two marvel titles. I’m not counting on possible remaster/remake/uncut and moneyhat. Xbox has a lot of announced games, let alone projects. It’s matter of when which is better than if. I know waiting is hard, but this is what we’re in now. Not to mention, real life can really toll the world. Stalker 2 is unfortunate to have two, war and COVID.
I can’t tell if this is new footage or old
But good lord does it look amazing. I’d love to see this at the Xbox show. That would tell us it’s coming to Xbox and visually we’d be blown away.
While the effects of COVID have impacted games, we still don’t have much of a solid backlog to currently play. Most single player AAA games have slown down as shown last gen, which is part of the reason why people pay so much attention to what PlayStation Studios and Nintendo and Xbox Game Studios are releasing.
Everyone is craving some singleplayer games but none of the major AAA labels want to provide any of them anymore. EA And Activision’s lineup of games last year were mostly multiplayer focused and every new BioWare game that wasn’t a remaster was a dud.
Bethesda had some solid titles, and uh……Square Enix wen’t through a rough patch.
It contains some footage that I haven’t seen. Framerate looks … not that great.
But I would not be surprised that the game has some time exclusivity with Sony. Or Sony has the marketing rights on it at the very least.
Uhm movies got hit by covid s well? Marvel has a year delay on any movie. Remote hs many downsides and games take longer to produce. Everything is affected. Still. It’s a fact and it sucks. I am disappointed as well regardless.
Marketing rights is whatever to me, timed is…
The rule of thumb is that if there is a third person game that either
- looks good
- made by Square Enix
- has big IP
then the probability of it having some Sony’s marketing or time exclusivity is higher than 50%
Terrible post.
All games released so far were delayed publicy or internally by 1-1.5 years, this is what people should have got the memo, there’s nothing concrete even from Nintendo or Sony for late this year and both games (bayo 3 and God Ragnarok) are iterative sequels just like almost all big releases this first half rather than completely made up from the ground.
There are some clips in between which are new to me
Makes the chances of Starfield moving further definitely possible, but we’ll see. Biggest reason this really came out of left field for many is because it was pretty much said to be set in stone late 2021.
Nah, that’s Bloober’s shit. You can tell because the images are so very on the nose and not subtle at all. If Sony’s moneyhatting a Bloober game then I can’t lmao enough.
It wouldn’t shock me. And Bloober and Konami did announce something together.
Makes me wonder what the second rumored project is though.
Im mean, yeah. When you compare any gaming year to one of the best ever you can’t come out as a winner. Since 2007 game development has slowed down as a whole. Way less projects in the work than at the start of the HD gen and many devs are now not only involved in new titles but in support and content of ongoing games. And then Covid on top.
Better compare this to the start of the Xbox One gen. And i can only speak for me but i had more games to play and fun in the last 1,5 years than at the start of Xbone where only Powerstar Golf, FH2 and Assassins Creed Black Flag was good. Your mileage will vary of course.
They’re asking what platform you want to play each of their games on (Persona 4, Persona 5 Royal, 13 Sentinels, etc.). Xbox is a selectable option. Go fill in Xbox for every choice lol.
And I guess the fact that they’re asking about P5R on other platforms means Sony doesn’t have it moneyhatted like some believe.
Ah… when Valve actually made games
Never give up on Half Life 3, man, never. Look at Shenmue, 3 happened and it was amazing!
Yeah, fuck that, HL3 never happening, lol.
2015 was the best year for Xbox One, 2 years after launch and there were not only fantastic 3rd party games but also a great first party lineup with Halo 5, forza 6, ori and the blind forest and timed exclusivity on Rise of the Tomb Raider. 3rd party had Fallout 4, Starwars Battlefront, Dying Light, Mad Max, Metal gear solid V, Witcher 3.
2022 is a wasteland of releases. 2021 was the bare minimum, 2020 was dead. We’ll see what Xbox is going to do for 2023 but I’m no longer going to play the guessing game. Avowed, Fable and State of Decay 3 could be in pre-production for all we know because of covid.
