As someone who has no interest in superheroes I’d be more bummed out over the MK license and LOTR. Tried playing the Arkham games and couldn’t get into them
Acquisitions for talent is fine but the real prize is the IP. The biggest reason why MS acquisitions have been a bigger deal than Sony’s is because MS is getting mountains of IP’s…what has Sony gotten with their acquisitions? Insomniac gave them Sunset Overdrive and Fuse, Bluepoint owned nothing, Housemarque owned nothing, Haven, Firesprite etc none of these studios owned IP’s
Compare to MS getting Doom, TES, Fallout, Starfield, Crash, COD, Spyro, Warcraft and the list goes on and on and on.
If Sony did buy WB but didn’t get the license all they’d be getting are some talented studios…maybe they’d get the MK license if they get Netherrealm
Although lets be honest, Sony bought Bungie for $4B and can’t even afford to keep them exclusive, so it’s highly unlikely they’d be able to drop another few billion.
Also its possible that WB/Discovery may sell off studios al la carte rather than the entire package.

Sony own EVO and previously money hatted Street Fighter. For fighting fans which platform will you choose?
Xbox which has no association with fighters (Killer Instinct released in 2013 to ultimately a dead platform) or PS?
The fighting tournaments actually bring in quite a bit of money/popularity through their views.
Owning Mortal Kombat and getting it included in GP on release would be a huge pull.
On the other hand Rocksteady is probably the only similar studio to Insomniac on the market.
If PS got them then all superhero fans will likely buy a PS and they have massive appeal right now!

It’s the community thread. The topic is will hop around a bit. I find it more off putting when people try so hard to police every conversation. Learn to relax a bit, this place is about fun and doesn’t need to be so serious all the time. If the topic isn’t something you like then use some tact and change the subject. It’s easy, try it sometime.
Speaking of EVO. I think it would be cool if Xbox bought the rights to the E3 name. Gamers have a lot of fondness of the name E3 and it could actually be a bigger tournament than EVO. Bring back Killer Instinct would help. I think Xbox can still be a home for fighting games. I did my part, I bought King of Fighters 15. Also I just ordered the official Fight Stick Alpha at $170.
I already have it but this is awesome. I do hope they re-add games that were either removed from the store due to licenses like FH, or games that have been delisted for whatever reason like Syndicate.
It will always weird me out that this game is Next gen exclusive to Xbox Series (no PS5 version) and MS did nothing to promote it. That should have been a prime time for Game Pass.
I don’t expect Forza Motorsport coming to Xbox One. Microsoft is very transparent in that regard and I don’t see them pulling old gen version when the listed platforms are Xbox Series S / X / PC. They are not Sony
