Stop! It’s too positive for dead game!
Xbox Game Pass: 100% off…
Honestly, I want to play the MC in open world expansions on Zeta Halo and have our MP Spartan be used for more typical missions from old school Halo games. But that’s probably asking for too much , heh.
I’m really looking forward to Forge too, has so much promise
Cost is 200 Emeralds. Oooof.
I like real life brands in games. I wish games had more real life brands. I get sick of seeing the same Topps ad in MLB the Show. I honestly would prefer a larger variety of ads.
Also fears over NFTs are over blown. I think the plan is to make NFTs unlock-able like achievements. Then you can trade them. I don’t see why everyone is so against this.
I hope when Xbox makes the next Tony Hawk that there are lots of real life brands, popular music, and advertisements. Generic and recycled ads are lazy.
I hope the next Forza Horizon DLC has a brand tie in as well. Lego was a cool DLC last time.
I’m looking forward to trying out the Top Gun movie tie in with Flight Simulator.
Microsoft Gaming is better positioned for growth than the streaming efforts of its Cloud Czar rivals
If there seems to be a weakness, it is in entertainment. Google has YouTube, Amazon has Prime Video, even Apple has Apple TV. But here, too, Microsoft may be the better bet as the world’s dominant gaming company.
Spencer’s domain gets much bigger once the acquisition of Activision Blizzard is complete. At $68.7 billion, it is the biggest deal the company has ever done. Combined with the Xbox, it represented [$21 billion in revenue] last year. That is almost as big as Windows.
I know its just an opinion of an investor but still
Microsoft wants to be to gaming as Google is to streaming videos. It sounds insane now but in a decade Xbox might be as synonymous with gaming as Youtube is to online videos
Because NFTs require some form of minting and blockchain which is wasteful and overly complicated when they can simply be your bog standard database entry and authentication guarded asset.
PlayStation is Vimeo.
Google Stadia is Quibi.
Souljia Boy is a burnable CD

There’s been a bit of strife at Microsoft and with the Xbox team in the last few months as the teams are getting ready to reshape themselves a bit once the acquisition of Activision Blizzard was official and had been approved by the US government. Of course, there is no indication the impending acquisition has anything to do with Novak deciding to move on, but there will likely be other changes among the teams in both companies in the near future.
In a message Novak posted on LinkedIn, he confirmed that he’d moved on from the Xbox team but did indeed make it clear he wasn’t doing so out of any sort of anger at his longtime company. In fact, he said that he’d loved his time with the firm. He added that over the years he’s taken great joy in working with and listening to the gaming community, but now it was time for rest and reflection about the next steps.
20 years!! O.o
This is a total dirtbag publication article for even bringing up anything about strife or even writing up an article about their departure. The person explicitly spelled out why they are leaving. Naturally they buried the reason until after all their bullshit clickbait toxic writing. I truly wish rag websites like this would be pulled entirely off the planet. The author and website should be ashamed of themselves.
Novak, who was instrumental in the Xbox Store design refresh back in 2020, also made mention of the fact that he’d meant to step away from Microsoft quite a while ago after something happened in his personal life. Now he was going to make good on those intentions. “I’m going to spend some time doing a life and design tour everywhere I can,” he added.
I’ve been saying this for a while, MS missed out on so many markets like the phone market, music streaming, social media platforms and so many other consumer focused products. The only product Microsoft has that has been around for a long time and actually has some legacy is gaming and Xbox. This is why they are not just doubling down on gaming they are making it a core pillar of Microsoft at large.
I don’t think people really understand how big this is for Xbox, Microsoft knows the gaming market is still “young” and can still be shaped and they have a play in it already so they are better off pushing into this market they know and have a big name than try anything else.
Microsoft can always tap the TV/Movie giants for deals to make cool content for those types of entertainment and vice versa.
If you had any doubts about Xbox being here in the long term, Bethesda and Activision should be a big flag to show they ain’t going anywhere and even if the ABK deal doesn’t go through they will try someone else.
Nintendo - shortest timed exclusive Xbox - timed exclusive PS - longest timed exclusive
Maybe they will reach OG Xbox in Japan level by the end.
Though I guess they will push PC Game Pass more.
Oh come on now, you know any time someone leaves Xbox, or one of its teams, it’s a sign of impending doom and there’s about to be some mass issues reported
In all seriousness though, I watch these kinds of things personally because it allows me to update my contacts when I reach out to people in the industry, and the amount of departures from Sony or other big studios not being reported would make your head spin. Even more pertinent, departures rarely are indicative of a larger problem; the gaming industry is extremely competitive, especially right now, and the pool of talent is still relatively small compared to other industries, so it’s bound to happen all the time. This obsession with finding a broader problem at Xbox, of which by all accounts don’t exist as reported to me, just reeks of another example of bias and duplicitous reporting in the industry.
