Very excited to see that Discovery wants to invest more into WB and DC. The last 3 out of 4 games they’ve announced, im all in on. Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman. Hyped!!!

As for Sony/Marvel, I love Insomniac as they’re my favorite Sony studio and in my opinion, the best Sony studio. Give me my Rivet spin off game from Rift Apart and more Marvel games. Don’t give two shits about Sunset Overdrive (hope it stays dead and buried) or Resistance (also hoping it stays dead and buried). Super hyped for Wolverine and Spider Man 2. Can’t wait to see what else Sony’s studios and Insomniac have in the pipeline for other Marvel games.

I think the only other studio that could would be Sucker Punch. They’re very tailored for a open-world superhero game.

I think Bend Studio could make a Superhero game. Especially if their new IP doesn’t do well. And there is either a closure, or something stable, and less risky, like the new Uncharted, or a Marvel game

Hahaha. I get plenty of nice things. Hehe. Sunset Overdrive never interested me. Never played Resistance and unless it’s full blown remake trilogy (not remasters), I prefer it to just stay dead. I will easily take new Marvel games over either of those two franchises. Take Wolverine for example. An M rated Wolverine game from Insomniac? Fuck yeah!!! Besides, as good as those other games were, they had their time. Time for bigger and better. And for me personally, Marvel games like Spider Man 2 and Wolverine will definitely be bigger and better.

I agree with this. As long as it’s not Infamous, I would be interested. But first things first - Tsushima 2!!! I wouldn’t mind them resurrecting that Prophecy game that Tsushima eventually replaced after Tsushima 2 or watching it again, it could be a “Ghost of” game. Link below -

I am with you on this one, I LOVED Sunset Overdrive. To me it felt like the definitive game that proved the power of the next generation, back when it came out anyway. It was just a really fun, unique sort of game. If Sony/Insomniac ever decide to revive or even just rerelease it I will absolutely be in line to buy it.

The difference is that WB have their own studios to make the games. Unlike Disney. Games made with DC licenses will compete with WB own games made from these licenses.

Disney do not have such problem as they don’t have any studios. Now, if EA and Disney merged…That would be interesting see if Disney would be willing to license out their own IPs in that case. Also Spider-man is a peculiar IP regarding licensing.

But it is sad that Microsoft cannot grab Netherealm and Mortal Kombat IP anymore. They need some in-house fighting game studio to be sure that KI can always be developed.

Studios that they were just trying to get rid of. I feel like licensing would be a much lower risk test to see if there’s an appetite for more of their properties.

That was under different ownership.

Sounds like the new owners want to revitalize DC. I’d just grow the in house team to have more control over the quality of the product. I don’t think they need to worry about testing to see if there is an appetite for their properties. It sounds like a cross media strategy to rebuild that appetite.
