Star Wars, Marvel, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, Tansformers and Jurassic Park are just a few examples of IP that have seen success from licensed content in this decade.
Actually, I just now thought about it, but it seems to me that if the Marvel games do not work as they should, except for the ones that Sony did, then they will simply give the Japanese any rights that they want and Insomniac will literally turn into a factory Marvel. And Bend, I think. And some of their studios that bring little money.
Ah, in fact, Insomniac is already a Marvel games factory. Well then fine
I was focusing more on Comic Book games, but yeah I guess there isnât any reason to limit it that much.
Remedy would be perfect imo
Out of all of this, Marvel Spider-man and Jedi Fallen Order have been really successful. As far as I understand, Guardians of the Galaxy failed. Nothing to say about the Avengers. Battlefront is also dead. There will also be a game from the creators of Xcom, but it seems to me that it will fail. And the game is from Amy Hennig, but itâs far away.
Or Doctor Strange, yeah
Iâm not that big of a Supes fan, but damn that looks sick and Iâd play it.
Battlefront 1 & 2 sold a combined 33 million, may be dead now but extremely successful.
You seem to have a very negative outlook on most things. Iâm just going to go with 1 of those franchises to show how ridiculous that post is.
I donât know anyone that would classify Star Wars Battlefront 2 as a failure, over 20 million played it. In addition to that game, Star Wars recently had Respawns very successful Jedi Fallen Order with an upcoming sequel. Recently, Star Wars dominated the console market with the Skywalker Saga. They have a new KOTOR game on the way along with at least 4 other console title. However, the place theyâve seen the most success is with the wider market in mobile, Star Wars has 2 of the most popular mobile games out there today (2 have over 100 million players) along with a plethera of smaller ones.
Yup⌠Superman is equivalent of Captain Marvel⌠Too powerful hence he should work out in the universe rather then on Earth
Theyâre getting pushed out of every game that attempts to have them and âweâ successfully pretty much eradicated lootboxes. Donât give in so easily.
Then yes. They were huge. Now, it is unlikely that someone will return to them, therefore, in fact, he is dead
People are much more aware of these scams in gaming nowadays, they wonât get away easily with a new one.
I did not really understand your answer to my post, but okay
I wrote about Fallen Order myself. Battlefront is currently dead, as I wrote. I forgot about Kotor, but then again. We have to see how the game turns out.
This is the thing that is most probably going to happen . The only thing this new CEO liked from the DC side of things was the gaming division and wants to expand it .
There are a couple of implementations of NFT in games that I donât think would be terrible.
-
Player to Player commerce, like selling a rare item that you were able to get in an MMORPG to another player
-
Given away for free by the game for performing extraordinary actions. For example⌠the first team to complete a Destiny raid could be rewarded with something. Like a super version of an achievement.
You dont need NFTs for points 1 or 2. All can be done using âlegacy technologyâ that is not using the blockchain.
Thos things can and already happen without the need for wasteful NFTs
Yeah, I know. Basically anything people would use NFT for can be done another way lol
Itâs funny that the presumed idea of Blockchain/NFT is to not be dependent on corporate backend but then these corporates are also the ones promoting and looking to have their share of this BS
