My guess was mid-70s⌠Guess I could be correct depending on what your definition of âmidâ is.
Anyway, this seems like one of those love it or hate it games. I do still want to get it. For some a yellow score means commercial failure but for me it can mean rough but playable (or a rough diamond though I donât think that applies here)
Looking deeper the reviews all seem to have good praise for the gameplay but the performance issues are severely hurting it. Some also criticize the story but for me the dumbness of it is a selling point

Not until we kill chaos it will get super high scores.
Looks like Square is aiming for the opposite of Xbox 2021 in metacritic overall. But seriously, I guess I have to watch and/or read to see whatâs the pros and cons.

It seems like Square Enix is making a lot of cheap stuff these days for some reason.
Only Triangle Strategy seems âbudgetedâ in compare. Forspoken is next but as of late, non-Switch are getting short stick in quality. Letâs see if Forspoken, what could be their Magnus Opus for this year, can help out.
Even Forspoken does not seem like it has a high budget. If we remove the fancy particle effects, it looks relatively low budget.
Aside FF14 and FF7R, I donât see any quality titles from Square Enix.
They used to have Hitman and Sleeping Dogs. They could have done things especially with the latter. Deus Ex is nowhere to be seen.
I felt like Guardian of the Galaxy and the Tomb Raider Trilogy were high quality. As were all the 2d rpgs they make for Nintendo (though those are likely lower budget to make).
Uhh I dunno about thatâŚgame continues to look so bland.
Also a question for @Doncabesa : Is the ER thread still spoiler free? some people refuse to use spoiler tags (maybe they still âdonât know howâ). Just curious.

Regarding with the SoP FF, I wonder how in the world they came up with the storyline or rather the protagonist with his music player. Like is this suppose to be a what if isekai meets FF universe or something?
I see, I guess the amount of games that Square Enix releases (and there are really a lot of them) skews quality perception for me.
