to be fair most of the Sony Money hats turn out pretty good. Bloodbourne, death stranding as examples. Xbox I feel has been burned especially last gen Recore and ryse. I understand people liked all these games but no denying sony got more high quality ones. I dont blame xbox for just buying a bumnch of studios for its own games but they still need to keep the money hats off sonys console. Im also glad this game is a 40 meta. I am not a platinum fan and hopefully these will deture any idea xbox had of buying them
Oh im aware Sonyās have been more good and blood bourne is a special occasion since sony completely funded that game same with death stranding those arent moneyhats
Death Stranding isnāt a money hat and honestly, neither is Bloodborne. Money hats are games like Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo where the game was being developed regardless of Sony and Sony simply paid for the timed exclusivity.
Sony paying a publisher/developer to make an exclusive for their platform is no different than Microsoft paying Nordisk Film to make Contraband an exclusive for Xbox.
Not moneyhats. These are funded and owned by Sony and Bloodborne even had Japan Studio assisting.
Moneyhat is when they just pay to keep a game they donāt own off Xbox for a period of time.
What is the correct thread to give opinion on the new features for the website here?
Have a cool idea to increase engagement and prevent the threads getting derailed because of it getting off topic.
This is probably a question for @Doncabesa
I have a good question for @Shpeshal_Nick and @Sikamikanico for the podcast tomorrow
This isnāt real but lets pretend it is. So Telltale announces they are going to make a Friends game in a similar vien of all the other telltale games. They announce all the friends characters are going to be in it BUT none of the original cast will be voicing them. Who would you want to voice all of the friends characters? What do you think the game would be about?

We have a feedback forum though itās not the easiest to find it seems? Make sure to ping Sik and Predrag as they are the ones who do all the ārunning the forumā stuff in the background.
Their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title is in the 40s too. Iāve seen a lot excuses given every time a Platinum game does terrible job critically, which frankly is far more often than not (I even listed all of their MC scores in the acquisition thread to prove it). Fact is, this is a perfect example of no one to blame but Platinum themselves; they had big publisher money and plenty of time.
Itās almost like these are made by two different developers⦠and one of them isnāt good (or at least consistently good).
I love how they had the āif we have freedomā caveat on their being open to purchase.
The Bayonetta trilogy is probs going to be the best action series of all time. Astral Chain came out not long ago, was a great game.
I think Platinum choose projects that they pay bills with and they have projects that they give a shit about.
And which do we think Scalebound was?
Sure seemed like the former, not the latter
I love Bayonetta, truly, but if weāre just talking modern character action games similar to it, thereās DMC, Ninja Gaiden, God of War, etc. that Iād consider on the same level.
Remind me with a super chat tomorrow

@Shpeshal_Nick I never get to watch the show live so if you remember it will be a fun question. If not maybe someone else looking at this who watches live will remind you
That reminds me of the underhanded spinner I used to try to pitch in bar league (American slow pitch softball).
I copied your question @Thebaconlife to the podcast question chat. @Shpeshal_Nick
I really like God of War but I wouldnāt put any of the GoW games up there with DMC, NG and Bayonetta (excluding of course the duds like DMC2 and NG3), also in my mind GoW is more action/adventure than character action. Still we are talking about the best of the best so itās a matter of personal preference, that being said Bayonetta is indeed god-tier and can easily compete with the other two big series.
Also Platinum may have 3 failures but they also created some great/amazing games (Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising, Bayo 1/2, Nier Automata, Astral Chain, The Wonderful 101, Transformers e.t.c.)ā¦the good heavily outweighs the mediocre/bad. Itās not hard to understand why some of us want MS to buy them and believe that they have a lot to offer to the Xbox 1st party portfolio.
Got to love the troll move while promoting it.
IMO Platinum took too many projects and a small time which caused major issues, they had churned out three licensed cartoon games which are very known in the industry to have small time to be developed (which is why you rarely see nowadays) alongside their bigger ones, when they are working with a team that resonates best (Yoko Taro) or when they are working alone (Astral Chain) they really do wonders.
