The digital split is even more important when you consider that devs/pubs make a lot more money from digital v retail also

Was it like that? Wow. Imagine trying to advertise that and deceive developers to go with your platform. It could be like BF2042 where they used a specific quote to advertise their game when in reality, the context is absent.
Looking at other site, I think some is trying to convert the narrative that Xbox fans claimed it will be tied or pass PS version for Elden Ring. Not sure who thought of that but my âsurpriseâ is the gap between them. If PS version sold at least 60%, then it matches my expectation. The fact the gap isnât that wide proves the install base of Xbox is still significant.

Pretty much equal number of PC sales. And another reason why UK retail sales dont matter since most of xbox sales are digital

That doesnât sound too bad for Xbox, right? Itâs not that sales are so bad that the studio has a reason not to do their best on that version. I really do hope theyâll work on it to make it on par with PS5, thatâs the least that should happen I would say.
Sale is sale. Thatâs all it matters. The fact the division isnât that massive of a margin say like how people brought up Phoenix Wright Trilogy led to no longer bringing to Xbox makes a strong case of not moving away from Xbox when the install base is that good. If it was like close 10%, it would give them a second thought.
The adoption rate among Xbox users if this data is true indicates that while there are much less Xbox users, they are more likely to purchase Elden Ring than Playstation users.
This is a great data point. It could be suggested that if Xbox were to pull even with Playstation or even 80% of PS install base theyâd have more purchases than PS.

Yup and itâll only get more expensive once Xbox closes the gap even more which I expect.
Exactly, I think digital marketing is much more effective also having a super hyped up gaming websites help with that, gaming sites and media people are a bit cult like to these games.
I donât expect another From exclusive PS game mainly because the people who were involved with them at Sony (Japan Studio) are gone. I donât think expect an Xbox exclusive one either.

Unless they pay crapload of money, but I doubt it. I have to admit, I laughed when I read a post that said âIf only PS had VRR to escalate the 40% to 60%.â
Anyone heard that in Japan, RE next gen upgrade will be charged only on PS while PC is free and Xbox as well via smart delivery (the buzzword!)? Look, Japan. Xbox is your friend, not foe.
If theyâre outright funding a new game like previous From PS games (Demonâs Souls, Bloodborne), then Sonyâs fully in their right to do that of course, and if From accepts, thatâs good because it means Xbox could do it too someday.
But if weâre talking timed exclusive moneyhats on From games itâd never happen. Especially if From continues working with Bandai Namco, who never took a Sony moneyhat as of yet.
Well, Xbox and Bamco are like besties as of now, but I get you. I think it was a lot easier back then since Nintendo was on its own world and early on, Wii U was really rough, and Xbox was being dismissed after their focus on TV. Today, itâs a lot different than last gen and saying otherwise would need to look deeper.

Streamed some Destiny 2 and later game Elden Ring today
Also started up work on Young Souls which is coming to game pass in a week so keep an eye out for that review.

Xbox should get a Chrome Hounds 2 and their onw Souls-like game.
I highly doubt Sony will get any more exclusives from From Soft. Sony likes to own the IP and From Soft has now seen just how much owning the IP can mean for them and their company value. Theyâll want to own everything moving forward when all their team does is produce hits.

Unsure if itâs not allowed to be discussed on these boards , but the social media reaction for Sony not giving out review codes because a site doesnât worship them is weird . I have no clue why social media is celebrating that, but seems unethical to review system since it can add bias imo
