But if not, I doubt Xbox gets to eat too.
With Atlus, it seems old ports are multplat (not Xbox tho) and new games are exclusive, so thatâs why I think itâs probably Switch exclusiveâŚ
I love how people romanticize SF5. When it came out it was hot garbage and everyone hated it. I wonât deny it didnât still have a strong negative effect on the fighting game community on Xbox, but I think the other issues with Xbox at the time were also equally to blame.
I also donât believe that most of you who are concerned about SF6 are going to buy the game and/or play it for more than a few hours.
Fighting games werenât as craze as it used to be when it comes to releases. Crazy to remember there used to be over 5 fighting games per year and good chunk came from Capcom.
They do. Here in India one of their divisions handle the Trials franchise on mobile.
I can say that youâre wrong on that lol.
I love fighting games and play it all the time with my friends.
People should just think that SF 6 will skip Xbox, itâs better for their psyche and for the forum.
I did say âmostâ, which is probably also wrong Iâm sure. I think my bias against fighting games is probably clouding my judgement on this. I used to love the genre, but fell out of love towards the end of the 360/PS3 era. Even when I did buy them, I would play them for a couple of hours and just drop them. So, Iâm probably projecting my own feelings with regards to the genre.
Regardless, I donât expect SF6 to be an exclusive, so it hopefully wonât matter.
Because Microsoft OWNS Bethesda , Sony doesnât OWN Capcom.
Yeah, the fact Sony gets similar results with minimal moves in comparison itâs not a great thing for Xbox.
Really shouldnât have to thing like that since in all itâs years SF has come out on everything. I am still to this day finding versions of SF2 that i didnât know existed on certain platforms. The only time it was truly exclusive was when SF3/Third Strike was on the Dreamcast. That was because it was basically the âCrysisâ of 2D fighters and no other console out at the time could run it. ( at least not without massive compromises ) The second PS2 and Xbox dropped they got their version. SF4 was also massively successful and on multiple console. Somehow Capcom screwed something up financially and supposedly, allegedly , needed Sony to get SFV made. Now Capcom doesnât need Sony at all, there is no real reason for them to handicap SF6 for a moneyhat.
Exactly and i am sick of that disingenuous comparison anyway. Of course a first party studio will make exclusive games Thatâs how it works aside from special cases like Mojang and Acti/Blizz.
I never bought that narration, Xbox was weak and an easy target for Sony moves and most japanese publishers were on board with that.
Iâll wait for definitive evaluations on AB, but if that one becomes a MC situation it wonât be good at all for Xbox, period. MS would have more multiplatform devs than Xbox devs, come on.
Yeah and when one looks at the state of SFV when it launched, youâd have to wonder where Sonyâs money went to. Sure as hell wasnât the game.
You know whatâs even crazier?
They were the selling behemots back in the 16 bits day, which would be the equivalent of todayâs COD and Fifa. Street Fighter 2 on SNES on its first version sold as much SFV did (6 million), in a console with 48 million units. Mortal Kombat 2 was also the most waited release of the year and was the record breaker back in 93.
I am not sure why you are comparing ATVI to Mojang thoughâŚATVI is Bethesda.
Sony never particularly help the game they moneyhat. They literally donât make the games better - just deprive it from the platform.
Some (or even most) always go to friendly execs, itâs common in every business deal.
The 90âs fighter craze was definitely on another level.
Because Mojang stayed multplatform after being aquired, and appearently so will Acti/Blizz. Hence the comparison.
Erm, no. But whatever, wait for the deal to close.
KOF used to be the CoD of fighting games as well. Each year is a new one. Once theyâre start numbering, they have to take a break.
