I forgot that this was revealed during the Epic v Apple court case, but Tom Warren is speculating whether Microsoft might go through and cut the Xbox Store’s fee to just 12%. That would indeed be a seismic event in the console space.

I think I called this one. Other calls I’ve made before are SFVI will be on Xbox. Capcom won’t be moneyhatted again and DQ12 will be on Xbox day 1.

Yeah those are wonderful, but with the ammount of content xbox has theyll need to do more regular shows soonish, and every show theyve done outside of e3-window has not been great.

My dream is Xbox funding a JRPG that is very “inspired” by Xenoblade Chronicles someday… I want them to rip off that exploration and verticality hard. Just not sure who’d make it, haha.

The amount of Square support in that Direct, plus how much of them even seem to be skipping PS, makes it tough to believe that Square is in talks to be acquired by Sony.

I am not sure why anybody believes that Sony would acquire Square. Sony certainly doesn’t show any moves in that direction.

It’s only “theories” because they moneyhat Final Fantasy. I never put any faith in those beliefs.

The fact that Sony paid for 2 year exclusivity for Square Enix games points that they are not interested in acquiring Square Enix. And considering the direction Square Enix is going, they don’t even fit Sony anymore in what Sony is trying to achieve.

In general it seems all the modern publishers - aside certain japanese ones - are up to no good these years. Bethesda was collapsing, ATVI was dying, T2 is GTA Online platform, Ubisoft is NFT and F2P, EA is FIFA and broken games, WB is in limbo, Square Enix is FF14 and broken mess…
