Respawn making 3 new Star Wars games for EA, including Jedi: Fallen Order sequel

[image] Respawn Entertainment is making three more games set in the Star Wars universe, publisher Electronic Arts announced Tuesday. In addition to a follow-up to 2019’s single-player action-adventure Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order , Respawn also has a new first-person shooter and a strategy game based on Star Wars in the works.

State of Decay wasnt AAA, easy to make profit when thats the case. Forza Horizon was a great success, the same cant be said for FM. SOT had to be grown into what it is today with support.

The argurment is that Gears did well last gen considering the circumstances of the Xbox brand and is on course to do well this gen with the full support of MS

I think supporting PC is what pushed the success of these games eventually… Don’t have much of the data here but SoT 5M on steam is indicative of the fact tha PC helped xbox after its bad start.

And there are many ips like Sunset overdrive, Ryde quantum break etc which I feel were flopped because of bad start of xbox.

I don’t understand what they mean by this. Killer Instinct, Perfect Dark, Battletoads just from Rare were/are being brought back. And we also have Fable in the works, and then Phil just openly saying he would like to bring more franchises back from Activision even before the deal is close. Of course there are still questions, especially how Banjo is still not revived yet, that just doesn’t make sense. But overall, I don’t think Phil is just saying things, they actually did and are reviving dormant IP, and I think now with more teams and workforce from ActiBlizz that can be expanded. And also consider, they can’t force the studios to make them, they either offer and find a right fit or get a right pitch from the teams themselves.

People like to ignore things that don’t fit their narratives.

I think this is what it really comes down to. A probable reason why we haven’t got a new Banjo yet for instance is that no one knows what to do with it. Some didn’t like Nuts & Bolts because it wasn’t the Banjo game they wanted but Yooka Laylee wasn’t received that well either.

LOL at the time of the deal being announced no one really thought it would go through. Nvidia are already the 2nd biggest chip producer in the world(only behind TSMC) and Arm’s clients are nearly every one of their competitors and even companies that aren’t.

Interestingly, the FTC appears to be blocking another deal today, which does not result in monopolies. The FTC is blocking the Lockheed Martin acquisition of Aerojet for 4.4 billion.

Someone may really be going hard to block anything and everything.

Though it’s worth noting Lockheed is currently number 1 in their space.

Think the Lockheed-Aerojet move was mostly blocked due to concerns by the US government that they would raise the price on defence contracts in lieu of competition.
