People are acting like not having the KOTOR remake is a 3 game losing streak in an NFL season, when it’s really a 3 game losing streak in a MLB season. You don’t like it, but it’s not a really a crushing blow.

Framing this as losing is already wrong. Kotor is on Xbox, PC and Switch. And its still working last time I checked.

Lets not downplay it. It’s a big deal, it’s freaking KOTOR. It’s the WRPG equivalent of FF7. Which they also snagged, heh.

There isn’t any planet where FF7R and KOTOR are equivalent. They’d need a game like Mass Effect or Dragon Age to say that, both of which are way ahead of KOTOR.

That isn’t to say it isn’t significant, but let’s not overblow it either. Let’s also not panic about a stated timed exclusive skipping Xbox in someone’s doomsday scenario.

I mean Star Wars is bigger than Final Fantasy so idk what we are trynna do here.

KOTOR is a miss and its one of the historical WRPG that was coincidentally linked to xbox at its core.

Maybe it is for different people? I have never been into JRPG’s f.e, and KOTOR and its sequel was big af here on PC and Xbox.

It is not in terms of business impact. In 2023 I’d much rather play a KOTOR remake than FF7R whatever part.

I will add that it’s possible that a KOTOR remake could have much wider appeal than it did back then. WRPG are much more popular (on console) now.

A Star Wars RPG with legendary status will never be a small thing, you can downplay it how much you want to for whatever reasons you may have. That is also objective btw.

But business wise it is less significant especially considering that moving forward Xbox has a major WRPG releasing on a yearly basis including the largest in Elder Scrolls. If people are wrpg fans they’re getting an Xbox, all this would decide is whether they potentially also get a Playstation.

KOTOR isn’t insignificant but it’s a small blip on the radar made by an unproven studio.

Xbox having great games doesn’t detract that Sony made a move to show that Xbox isn’t safe yet, they can and they will take things that are meaningful to the brand and it’s players.
