XboxEra Community Hangout |OT5| Season of the Infinite.. Arguments

Yeah I would have to disagree with that one. This is “THE” Star Wars game that everyone has wanted to come back. Some people even think this is the best Era of Star Wars with the “Rule of Two” not being implemented yet. Thousands of Sith vs Thousands of Jedi.

It was indeed strategically made to hurt Xbox, I hope Phil has an answer to this in the future, it’s time for some great Third-Party exclusives for Xbox.

If it was early Xbox One era with only 5 studios, this would have been damaging but instead, it feels more like “Oh no. Anyway…” Yes, it’s a popular title, but Xbox does hold many of that already, so why cry about it? This isn’t like how Sony E3 2016 practically told you to abandon ship. Xbox can survive and strive. This is like saying Xbox is doom over two Marvel games.

The game sold 3 times less than Battlefront. The original. Which was much less popular than Battlefront 2.so no its not the most popular star wars game. In the bubble of hardcore fans, then sure. But hardcore gamers own all the consoles anyways.

Promise yall not every move Sony makes is a waste of money or bad. KOTOR was a great move from them that took a game historically associated with xbox that many of us had locked in here for xbox and took it away for god knows how much.

Im not gonna downplay it even with Starfield. TES and Fallout being exclusives.

Time will tell if Sony indeed won’t let the game release on Xbox, but let’s say it happens that’ll be yet another of the many reasons to lock stuff like Indiana Jones down all the way. Sony wants to play it like that? Two can play that game I’d say. We talked about it before but I wouldn’t mind to see the return of the more agressive Xbox. Of course buying Zenimax was a huge move, but with agressive I mostly mean making either long timed or full exclusive deals again. Game Pass for big AAA third parties will only get them so far, I feel.

I still see it as a response to Starfield for being exclusive. It’s like their way of vengeance.

Rpg sells less than a shooter? Damn.

People need to understand that this was a power move to show Xbox that no game is safe outside first-party titles, it was a clear message. 3rd party IS important and a game like KOTOR is one of the few with high historical wheight to it, just like FF7R, Sony took both legendary remakes without owning their respective studios, think about that for a second.

Money well spent on both when its all said and done.

This is obvious but any predictions I’m voting on breath of the wild 2 first one was delayed multiple times

Can we all wait to see what the game actually is before we put it in the “legendary” class? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Kotor is a legendary game and so was the og ff7.

Think FM8 gets delayed.

Doesn’t mean this remaster/remake will be great though.

Is this user supposed to be an insider of some sort?

Legit general question How many remakes actually end up being bad?

It’s not even that. The third party exclusives are going to keep coming from both sides. It was this particular one that just struck me as a miss. It’s an original Xbox third party exclusives that has a heritage on Xbox. And like I said before, that list of Third party exclusives on Xbox that are good, is not very long. This is arguably the best. Which is why it’s just head pounding Phil didn’t do everything to grab it. Because the situation now is that Sony has the best Marvel games and the best Star wars games. That’s a powerful message

Can’t claim its the game everyone wants the most if it’s not the game the most people will play.

Like I said it’s a game for hardcore gamers. And hardcore gamers tend to be the first adopters and tend to have all the consoles anyways.

If you want to spend 200 plus million on an exclusive, getting something with broader casual appeal would be a better target. Going after Bungies next game for example or a Resident Evil or something would be more effective.
