They were, but not bombastic things like Halo or Forza, I’d like to see an Elden Ring scale of GP day one.

If we believe Grubb and they have billions (I don’t), as we probably also believe Grubb that many of these deals come together close to the release of the games then… what are we really doing here? We gotta let it play out and see what we get.

what ? what bring publishers here, i’m talking about services and market, it’s something mobile market do pay money to devs release apps on their market, they would lose money but they would gain some users. the same here can be applied GP. also we are talking in millions not in billions

The irony of this argument is that I’m actually on your side. I think MS probably needs to make a big Gamepass day one deal sometime in the next couple of months.
It’s all good. I understand how it could get old, but damn it’s still something I can’t believe happened. Maybe I’m just weird but that earned them a “grace period” from criticism around this stuff from me. 
I am saying they spent a lot of money on a publisher that ultimately may not be profitable for a long time. No one would have guess that price before it happened.

Me too, lol. I think the unfortunate reality of these types of services is that the BIG BIG BIG games come from first party amd the remainder is basically there to keep your interest.

Personally, I think it’s a tall order to ask for day 1 AAA games when Xbox is currently last in market/mind share in the console space.
Is the first half of the year a bit weak ? Sure but will that be a thing moving forward once all the studios hit a rhythm ? No I don’t think so. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.

Sure, I trust most of what Grubb says too, but what he says might be his interpretation of what he hears and not a literal interpretation of what was relayed to him. I believe Xbox has an allotted sum for Gamepass deals, but I don’t believe that that sum has to be spent only on Gamepass. I could be wrong. Either way, we’ll find out over the next 6-12 months. Not hearing about something this instant does not mean nothing is going to happen or isn’t being worked on.

Yeah we learned about how many games coming to Gamepass last indie showcase and last E3. Plus they just announce stuff randomly.
There’s more to come.
