XboxEra Community Hangout |OT5| Season of the Infinite.. Arguments

They have been part of xbox since March and already have 2 exclusive xbox games announced and Phil said TES6 is xbox only. Dont buy it.

That’s never happening, so it’s equally useless being nice with PS, while Sony damages Xbox directly everytime they can.

That was a great coup, but it didn’t imply “taking away” something from PS and appear “bad”, so they had no restraints.

Xbox doesnt need Playstation nor Nintendo.

That happened because they negotiated a deal. How is that a horrible thing in any way lmao?

ahhh lol yeah i guess the hype ends here.

“Need” is weird because they don’t need it necessarily but they’d absolutely like more money. Putting Xbox Game Pass on, what, 200m consoles, would certainly drive more subscriptions, and therefore, money.

There was a lot of outrage online about this. Nothing about this was friendly. I can guarantee you some higher ups at Sony were pissed about the MLB Game Pass situation.

Where did i say this is a “horrible thing”?

When Peter Moore negotiates a deal: ruthless

When Phil Spencer/ Sarah Bond negotiate a deal: too nice and friendly

ok.

I can see it a Nintendo version like in 2025, but on Sony consoles? Never ever. XD

Also, being PS and Xbox very similar as consoles and demographic target, it would do more harm than good for Xbox console operation letting their whole portfolio on PS, because then by buying only one console you’d get two whole 1st parties (and general public don’t care about native being superior to streaming) and no actual reason to buy a Xbox console outside core fans.

I mean, outside console warriors, general public didn’t accuse Xbox of stealing things, like they did with Bethesda, because they only made the game available on GP day one, very pro consumer. Sony execs were pissed because they were outstandingly outmanouvered for that thing. XD

That was the MLB not being nice with Sony.

Lets not fall down this game pass everywhere rabbit hole again. We had gone months without it lol.

This doesn’t change anything about my argument. It was definitely not a ‘nice and friendly’ thing from Xbox.

I mean it kinda does? MLB wanted it multiplat, the game was coming to Xbox and Xbox suggested Game Pass. I don’t see anything aggressive about it from Xbox. Just normal business. The only aggression was on MLB forcing the multiplat or lose the license-thing with Sony.

I mean, Peter Moore feasted with Sony’s carcass until he was in charge, exploiting all their shortcomings and taking Xbox to the top. You can’t discount his merits. Imagine what he would have done with MS full support and not being the garage band in a different campus?

I just want a bit of that Xbox in the current one, even when Phil closed the door for TES 6 or Starfiled on PS, he said “it’s not for punishing PS…etc”: why even saying it?

Shame about NFTs inclusion, but sorry, if the game is great, then that’s that for me. Rebellion isn’t for me in that case. It’s just the way it is. I’ll wait until it actually messed up the game quality.

yeah what he is saying they need to do more of this. i mean MLB deal it’s really only deal they made in 6 years since TR 2015 Deal.

they need more of these ruthless deals

Its very aggressive, yes.

Then you should listen less to Phil and more to Aaron “I’m not sorry” Greenberg :woman_shrugging:t6:

And Xbox have done a lot of very aggressive and ruthless things in the last couple of years. I can think of billions of them.

From MLB’s side? Yes. From Xbox? I can agree it is at least not very nice and friendly

After Zenimax full acquisition I would have made a video along the lines “this is not for you”, like the infamous PS4 used disc video, which was the equivalent of a ICBM against Redmond. THAT is being ruthless imo, not saying “it’s not for punishing” or signing a MLB deal for a multiplatform game which doen’s take anything away from PS, I mean, Sony intentionally moneyhatted a storied Xbox franchise like KOTOR.

Hell Sony has done multiple attempts to Strangle Xbox Series X/S in in it’s crib since the gen started. Final Fantasy , 16 , 7 Forspoken , multiple Bethesda games, imagine if that acquisition happened any later or not at all. We wouldn’t even have Starfield. Sony isn’t interested so much in making their console look better , as making the xbox look worse. I just hope that Phil and co are taking note of this and trying to counteract this is some way because Sony is only going to get more aggressive as Xbox claws it’s way back up to being competitive again. There are even rumblings that Streetfighter 6 may again be exclusive. I like to think that Capcom isn’t that stupid to do that again but …it’s Capcom so…

Exaclty, also don’t trust any japanese publisher ever for Xbox support, lol, it’s not racist, it’s only history and facts which keep repeating, even if they often backfire (I reckon the next in line will be Forspoken). IDK why Sony tries to attempts at Xbox existence with all its might, while Xbox should be concerned about not taking away things, lol.
