Been a while since they tease with a shrimp. Joke or hint to something?

Definitely not a hint

I think it’s a hint at an Xbox Controller Giveaway.

Just read your GTA VI post.

If it will look like that I don’t think anyone is going to dislike that. It would go in line with Strauss Zelnick wanting more games from Rockstar, since a proper expansion like Witcher 3 had can almost be called a game of their own. It would make sense too, because Rockstar just isn’t the kind of studio anymore that releases yearly games. Which I do miss,I can’t deny that.

I get a bit sad when I think about how much games and expansions they graced us with during Xbox 360 and we could go back to that if they made their vision or ambition smaller, something like a Bully 2 definitely wouldn’t need as much years as a GTA game since the game world is so much smaller. We can only speculate what Strauss really meant with wanting more games, will expansions suffice or does he really want a next game by Rockstar after GTA 6 relatively soon?

These days when I hear live service I start to get scared, lol, I start to think of how a Ubi for some reason is aiming for online FC and AC as a service. Could it turn out well? Yep, but when something isn’t broken, sells super well, why change it? When I heard evolving map like Fortnite in those tweets i didn’t get it, because Fortnite was NOT the first one to do that, why didn’t these insiders just say similar to RDR 2? So when I read that I started to get afraid that now even the next GTA would get “poisoned” by online stuff while they have GTAO for that. But after your other post where you explained it all, that does make sense, if that’s it…I say it’s go time. It will be like GTA IV expansions, except that this will actually bring a new location too.

I just hope you’re right because I do remember Rockstar saying before GTA V came out that the IV expansions sadly weren’t profitable and back then they basically said we might not see them for V. So are people truly going to massively buy these expansions this time? But your scenario sure is the best case one. Worst case one would be that a lot of GTAO stuff is inside the campaign, MTX and what not. I can’t and don’t want to imagine it. But the fact is that two important folks left, Benzies and Houser. But Benzies was gone pre GTA V, wasn’t he?

Then we got GTA V expanded and enhanced, I totally forgot about that name. You’d think with such a name there IS indeed new stuff for SP, but it could also point to GTAO while the enhanced part is for both SP and MP. I would love for the devs to have actually bothered putting something significant into the SP for the fans…but I’m not getting my hopes up on that, and that trailer did not do a good job of showcasing any new stuff. So I’m just gonna assume it’s going to be like the PC version, 4K/60fps, maybe some more graphical fidelity but that’s it. Would love to be surprised though.

Last but not least, yes , if Phil were to buy Rockstar from Take Two…they probably wouldn’t have this kind of stress anymore. Apparently the working conditions are much better now, but knowing Strauss wants more games from them…that is gonna come with some stress and what not. For now it seems Strauss is letting Rockstar do what they want after all and take their time.

I’ll tell the same to someone that continuously expressed disappointment about lack of JRPG. I’d also tell the same to a PS owner that complains about a lack of WRPG. The different platforms have strengths and weaknesses.

The critiscm is based on the premise that what the poster is asking for is what the community is asking for which obviously is not the truth. People are excited for these games.

I mean, just go into the Xbox Projects thread and look at the list of games. Xbox has everything (well, except fighting games) coming from WRPGs and racing games to third person action adventure games. It is the most diverse first party lineup in the industry, easily.

because people are comfortable with the brand and once they are comfortable with it , its very hard to make them leave .

I just watched it last night and I friggin LOVED it. My first thought was, when is part 2…I want part 2!!!

Denis Villeneuve has never missed with me, in fact everything is a banger with that guy. I followed the story just fine, but I will say it is complex enough that you will need to pay good attention. Also try to have patience for certain things to be shown, or explained later, instead of being like what is that, or how do they do that, or who is this person supposed to be…I’m so confused." They definitely do hold some vital info back for a bit to have those, ah-ha! moents later

And the film is just so visually stunning, with amazing sound and music. And the action is so damn cool. Just creates for a hell of an atmosphere and mood. Very unique sci-fi expereince…and yes, I know there was a prior Dune

Great post, I share the same sentiment honestly. I would love Rockstar going back from time to time to smaller projects like Bully 2, L.A Noire 2 a new Max Payne, Manhunt too and why not a brand new ip on next gen. But as I know them with their open world projects they tend to try to surpass themselves. Imho they can do it with smaller projects too. Maybe they’ll reveal some down the line, who knows?

Concerning the live service, I think The Witcher 3 despite some bugs at launch (I would have prefered a perfect bugs free state D1) was really great on its approach with free goodies and big expansions not long after. CDPR handled it pretty well the live service side of the game. This is how I view it.

But I think the “live service” term in gaming space has been a bit quite often deprived of its essence. When I hear these words honestly I don’t think positively based on the bad experiences I had with so many games. Only a few select ones have been able to manage the live service approach or to get it right. But it’s not like we ask for the moon.

When I think about it I think about…Barebones game at launch even not finished, broken sometimes & riddled of bugs with the excuse of being made with the community live service exclusive dlc gameplay features with mtx added on top one by one which should have been there free D1 in the base game (You know ship it now, fix it later mentality).

The pic below perfectly encapsulates what most games have become nowadays compared to what we had before:

Sure lots of us prefer having a single big game bugs free, features rich and ready D1 but the tides are changing already. We understand the higher stakes and costs rising but some are going too far without any care or balance.

I hope I’m right too as I don’t know what will happen exactly for GTA VI in the future as I just speculate based on my findings, knowledge & experience with them but one thing I’m sure for their single player games is that the devs really want to make it right. They invested heavily in some various things & tech to help themselves push the boundaries. And it’s pretty exciting. Hopefully they will deliver again big time.

It’s the corporate side T2 which could ruin it if they keep pushing their luck. The constant “profitability” pretext. Look at what happened to CP2077. This ambitious game needed way more time right? But hey we get to release it asap. Also some part of the spoiled gamers fault. Constantly harassing devs for releasing the game. The studio went from Hero to Zero for many people in a short time. (I’m not including myself as I have a lot of respect for the devs and the studio except some higher up individuals).

I don’t really blame the devs as generally all gaming devs naturally want to make the best game ever as always but the leads, the higher ups the managers etc under pressure messed up so hard only to satisfy the shareholders and now the shareholders want to sue them cause the game feels rushed. The loop lol.

Lol. Pathetically ironic isnt it?

Really hope all will end well, we’ll see.
