There are better alternatives - just partner with Geforce Now in the short term until your own blades come up.
Apple does such things.
Ps - I know there are stories of nvidia being an unreliable parnter to MS in the past, but nvidia is a much better company today.

But this confuses me…
Aren’t basically all those games active? How can I test this myself? I have GTA, Destroy all Humans, FH5, Halo Infinite MP and Psychonauts 2 in QR.
If I continue on with say… GTA, it then becomes the active game? And if I then head back to dashboard without quitting it, it’s still the active game?

Yeah it’s a serious expansion. In a European context we are a very geographically large country though, and the datacenters are well placed to cover the lenght of it.
A “active” game is the most recent one you were playing without switching to a different one or manually quitting, basically how a game acted on a xbox one. When a game is put into Quick Resume its state is moved from the memory of the console to SSD and is now dormant.
and yes to your second point if you are playing GTA it is the active game, going to the dashboard keeps it active as well as launching a “app” like netflix; if however you launch a different game or choose the suspend command in the download section GTA will be sent to the SSD as a QR game.
If you don’t have the suspend game option in the download section that all your games are in a quick resume state
EDIT: I also think MS increased the allowed bandwidth for downloads when you have a active game as well, not sure if that is still only a insider thing or for everyone
