Ah yes of course. I see you also have experience talking to these people.
FWIW, most of us have accepted violence as a necessary evil in video games. For the most part, you donāt have video games without some sort of violence.
Cockfighting mini game has unnecessary written all over it.
You are saying as if murdering people in the game is the same as murdering them in the real life.
There are should be limits regarding what is issue and what is not. How many animals do you kill in Far Cry to get yourself an equipment? You have been doing that since quite some time, but suddenly cockfighting in the game is the biggest issueā¦
P.S. Anyway, this topic wonāt end with the agreement over something, so nothing else to discuss.
Some care about animal violence in games and ask for its ban
Some care about general violence in games and ask for its ban
Some care about violence due to army in real life and ask for its ban
Itās simply about perspective of what is actually extreme for someone and is clearly subjective
Arguing about subjective topics like this will never get anywhere
Eh no, the āone man army taking down a dictatorship whilst killing hundreds of soldiersā is not a very common problem in the world. Animal cruelty like cock fighting is though.
How many games let you slaughter and torture children, innocent people or random civilians? That is in the same category as animal cruelty. People involved are not right in the head.
Getting XP for killings is also not very common /s
I wonder what will be the limits regarding repairs because if person bricks the console, should he get the replacement or not?
Also, I think RtR will affect MS less simply due to Game Pass subscription service and XCloud
Itās usually a way to deflect from the issue yeah.
Good question. I think MS has already figured out some limits to what is allowed to be repaired or not based on history of the numerous existing broken consoles cases and made a plan starting to draw itself from there.
Sometimes I forget how wild online interactions can be
Itās still a matter of perspectiveā¦
How much voilence is evil and how much violence is just entertainment?
Everyone can have a different perspective on this.
A parent can argue like you are and say general violence in game is evilā¦ but we gamers wonāt agree then
It will simply end up being whatās the voice of the majority
With that said, violence may become no existing in video games if majority believes itās evil.
we are not at that level with animal cruelty yet. We certainly are at a point where majority will say that child cruelty in game is evil.
On a personal levelā¦ I will never support animal cruelty in real life and always condone it.
But in video game( frankly speaking itās just a video game everyone) if killing humans is ok then having a cock fight is ok too
Why does Nathan Drake kill people by the hundreds
I mean the context is that its just a damn game. If you think about it its really no different from Pokemon at its core. Youre putting animals against eachother for your amusement, pokemon just has a kid friendly coat of paint on it
People wonder why we can handle violence against humans in games but rather not have violence against animals.
This is wrong though, in games like RDR I DO shoot a wolf if it charges at me or if I need to hunt it. In GTA 5 I WILL shoot a attack dog if it comes at me because at the end of the day itās only a game, itās fiction. Cock fights and dog fights sadly are not just fiction, they are very very real and still happen way too much. You would guaranteed get sick if I told you what some of these piece of shit owners of fighting dogs do if their dog canāt fight anymore, I wish death on these āpeopleā but I digress.
For me the problem lies with that you can participate in these fights. Had it been a mission or just during free roam where you see NPCs participating in thisā¦ fine, but Iām just not a fan of letting us, the player participate. Because whatās next then? Ubi makes a game about drug dealers and you can let your dog fight other dogs in a ring? Please no.
Watch Dogs 2 handled this way better, it clearly was a place where dogs had been pitted against each other but you could not participate, nor did you see dogs going it. I do remember seeing people in the crowd if Iām not mistaken and mowing them down, gladly. So for me the problem is that it becomes a player activity, not good.
If they want to show a game world and itās atmosphere as realistic as possible to show how brutal and wrong it is, I have no issue with that.
But clearly we all have our own views on that, which is fine.
Because of the context.
I just cant believe we are debating fighting cocks for the past hour vs mowing down humans, aliens and shit by the dozen.
Both are bad I guess if we get granular.
