Are you a Insider that happen to me when i was a Insider.

Yes I am. This build is most likely not stable.

Yeah that explain it that what happen when you get the latest test updates it to be expected so you have to deal with that kind of stuff or leave the insider program.

Put up some orange and purple lights, some LED Jack O Lanterns and watched Trick R Treat.

Spooky Season Spirit fully embraced.

Squid game is alright tbh. It definitely looks really good, shot really well, has gripping pace, but ultimately it wasn’t anything as special as people are making it out to be. It’s good, it’s not “onwards to being the most watched TV series of all time on Netflix” good.

There seems to be a resurgence of “class consciousness” media right now where even the most basic stories are getting magnified beyond oblivion.

Squid Game is basically the Demon Slayer of TV . :phil_lmao:

I liked the show tho but that ending was weak af .

I’m just glad it brought back that Game of Thrones feeling in terms of everyone watching the same show at the same time. I miss those days lol.

Zombies is great for couch co-op. Have a friend over and a case of beers, just two of your surviving and having a laugh, simply stupid fun. Not for serious online COD fans, just regular folk who have no other AAA couch co-op options.

For me it separates itself from the survival genre by focusing on character development and the tasks being simple childrens games. Most survival genre movies focus on the gore and challenges over everything else so you never feel a massive connection to the characters. Squid Game isn’t a Breaking Bad or The Wire level kind of show but it’s really enjoyable which is good enough for me.

Daaamn, I agree with you on that. But tbh GoT was a whole other different cultural phenomenon, don’t think squid game kinda comes close (of course the pandemic is to blame for the lack of in person conversations). But GoT, I remember it well. Just going to college the day after watching an episode, we didn’t even need to say anything, we could just tell what others felt about it just looking at each others faces, it was that engrained to almost telepathic degree :joy:.

I’m gonna miss that. :sob:

Really never forgiving what they did to that last season. Hoping House of The Dragon is at least gonna be a tad better handled.

Having George RR Martin’s book and adapting from it makes a huge difference. Dan and Dave were just winging it from GRRM’s draft notes, I suppose, in the final season. The depth in dialogue, scenes and situations was completely absent. Tyrion was absent. And Bran just became king without a buildup. Hehe

I think there is good material for the House of Dragon. Fscking Targaryans. Wonder whether they will go into Aegon’s history or just focus on the lots of conflicts happening up until that time or after that time.

BTW - I am always excited to see Matt Smith or David Tenant come back in some way.

ps - College? When did you start watching Game of Thrones? I started pretty late, but caught up quickly with the episodes and the lore.

Yep. It was clear once GRRM was no longer there after S6. The show for me started going downhill fast in s7. Tbh I don’t even think the ending was bad, just that they tried to cram it all in 6 episodes was a massive failure. Its clear D&D just wanted to “get it over with”. Also they did my mans Jaime bad, just the worst ending you could give him after such a good character arc. So many issues I don’t even wanna go through em again.

For house of the dragon, I think they’ll focus on the conflicts and general events prior to Aegon’s conquest, I’ve heard that the two civil wars will be a focus, Dance of the Dragons and all. I’ve heard things like 18 dragons will be there in this show compared to the 3[?] in GoT. I dont think this show will have as much budget as GoT, so it’s gonna be interesting to see how well the dragons are realized when there’s a lot more of em, and lot more often.

And I only graduated from college in 2019 fam lol I’m not that old. I’m 24. I was watching it here and there back in the day when S3 S4 was being aired, when my bro used to watch it more regularly I was just seeing it in passing like how you end up watching regional television because your parents watch it all the time at home lol.

I only started watching seriously and following everything about the show when s6 came around. Since then I’ve watched the entire thing a couple of times. The long space between s7 and s8 had me become a proper fucking scholar of GoT lmfao, just watching and reading several lore videos and articles almost every single day. Now I’ve forgotten everything. :joy:

Game of Thrones and family viewing are two phrases that don’t belong together in a single sentence. LOL

Lmfaooooo true true. But that’s one advanced family if they can indeed be watched together. We ain’t there yet, maybe one day.

A cheat code for the GoT lore -

Alt Shift X.

One of the best channels, and he is able to correlate and go in-depth into GoT lore across books and the larger encyclopaedic book that GRRM wrote.

Some of my Netflix hot takes.

Ozark is the best show they’ve made yet.

2019 was their best year in recent memory (Marriage Story, Klaus, Irishman, I Lost My Body, etc)

Money Heist is just Spanish Big Boss/Brother.

Stranger Things went downhill after S1.

I liked Alt Shift X, but my personal go to was GrayArea. I love her voice and sense of humor and the way she covered things and stayed grounded in her speculations.

idk about big boss brother tho Money heist after S1 is basically a soap opera . It starts as a heist but remaining episodes become soap opera-ish .

Plus is it only me or Tokyo is an annoying ass character .

Off the top of my head

  1. Bojack Horseman
  2. Ozark
  3. Dark
  4. Better Call Saul

There are some episodes in BCS that go very dark.

But, amazing amazing series. Great choice.

that’s what I meant by the comparison haha, the show starts off interesting but quickly devolves into “bunch of people stuck in a space with so much soap-like drama”

Yet to watch Bojack, but I’ve certainly heard great things about it. Ozark goated, really really hoping Netflix doesn’t cancel the final season. Dark was great until S3 which became waaaay too complicated for my taste, like “deep for deep’s sake”. Yet to finish watching it, but I can definitely see it as one of the best. BCS I agree is amazing, but the reason I didn’t mention that is because I wouldn’t consider it a Netflix production like every other thing we’ve listed. But if you mean to say “best shows on Netflix” then I agree, but I was talking more of what Netflix themselves made. Unless I’m unware that Netflix themselves are funding the recent seasons. Even in that case, S5 episodes came to netflix a lot later than the actual airing dates, so idk.
