Yeah it’s kinda a dumb recurring argument cuz we already know it’s not happening.

I saw someone mention 2D Banjo in regard to MercurySteam in a potential acquisition or whatever. Could a 2D Banjo work from Dlala, do they have the chops? I’d be surprised if they aren’t collabing with Xbox again.

2D VFX ARTIST

The successful candidate will be contributing to an exciting new project with a much-loved established IP.

LinkedIn says they’re about 30 employees now. I think they’ve grown a good bit since Battletoads.

Didnt even know this was a hot take. Its the only correct take.

Black Ops titles are usually the most popular titles from COD so thats why he probably feels like its a hot take

COD 4, MW2 and MW3 run >>> BOPS run

Also I have never ever ever gotten the appeal of zombies

Fwiw, Grubb said on the podcast yesterday he suspects the Xbox Nintendo thing is about Azure when somebody asked him, not XCloud or Game Pass or anything.

Anyhow, I get the points on both sides of the Nintendo debate.

From the POV of Nintendo, you risk letting a Wolf into the Hen House to eat up your sales for games. You risk games missing Switch to hit Game Pass instead. And the more Game Pass grows, the more bargaining power MS has to want a more favourable deal.

From the POV of Xbox, you risk console sales here, especially with the crazed media who will play the Xbox is going third party card at a moment’s notice. You also have to pay out a fee to Nintendo that could get messy quick al a Apple and Epic. The gain in users who would only use Switch instead of say phone or PC or any other neutral platform wherein you collect all earnings must be 1.3x that of those other systems, and you need to realize the hit to optics and console sales which, while in the future are irrelevant, are still the primary growth drivers of Game Pass in the here and now.

Of course, in terms of positives, Xbox gets more subs, Nintendo money and games otherwise unavailable on their platform.

I think ultimately an ecosystem driven future wherein consoles are the fundamental equivalent of Blu Ray players is coming, but I also think we won’t be there for a good generation at least.

To put it in Phil Spencer terms, XCloud ubiquity and platform agnosticism is Horizon 3, we’re barely in Horizon 1.

I think the difference there is Steam forces Windows 10 for the optimal experience. They have the Linux support thing but its track record is very mixed for MS.

Regardless, I see no reason to bring Game Pass to Steam either. Far too many complications.

1000% agree about zombies.

“by family friendly content we mean in the Amano Pikamee words, that’s why we are bringing Taimaning Asagi and Hatred”

When i play 30fps games in a row i don’t really notice or care but going back to 30fps after playing a lot of 60fps games can be jarring. I usually adjust pretty quick though.

Shit man, that Squid Game series on Netflix is something else.

I’ve seen tons of amazing Korean movies, barely any shows and I know how brutal they can be, but this show messes with your emotions too. You start to care about folks too.

A damn good show though, that’s for sure!

It’s incredible. It’s pure eye candy too. I love how much the colours pop.

Hmmm, colours popping? Not sure I’ve noticed that. I’ll pay attention to this tomorrow when I watch another episode again.

I’ve have a few K-Dramas in my list that just I kept skipping for other shows, but after Squid Game I will incorporate one of them into my weekly rotation for sure now.

There are more good ones on Netflix? Squid Game I’d probably the first K-Drama I’ve seen.

I am unable to make myself watch any TV series.

There are a lot of ones to choose from, which ones you might enjoy depends of course on picking one that is thematically appealing to you. Because of me watching Squid Game, Netflix recommended a time travel sci-fi show, which is totally in my wheelhouse.

A lot of people who play games heavily, don’t like to watch TV series.

I don’t play games that much either. But I read a lot. But I still wonder why I just can sit and watch anything long enough until my eyes switch to something else.

Alice in Borderland, similar twisted game world setting.

Series X randomly has turned off twice today and is now having handshake issues sigh.
