BadNews:
I think before covid they had somewhat right of an idea when they had:
June: E3
August: Gamescom
November: XO
However still a big gap from November to June. I think fitting something in like March or April will def be an improvement from what they’re currently doing. Also it seems they have scaled back gamescom, so unsure if that’s an event they use to showcase games
I think easy way to do stuff is can focus on E3, X0 and have an event in February or March. They can then create some events to show gameplay deep dive of upcoming major releases and can also sprinkle some indie games or gamepass announcement in those shows.
There is GDC also, which is normally in the March time frame. You also didn’t include quake con

Good point forgot about quakecon, but unsure if Bethesda would want Microsoft deals or games shown there. I guess will be interesting to see if they slowly implement some Microsoft content if it fits Quakecon

With the amount of games in dev and currently announced, I think MS are going to have to start doing regular rollout, in the form of conferences, directs, deep dives, cover reveals
They are way behind in how they show thier games

I think they are mainly focused on Starfield, Forza, and Redfall for the next few months

Hopefully they give Stalker 2 some love since I think it’ll be their big Q1 game, even if not exclusive. Game seems worthy of a deep dive.

Every month new info should be released about games that are coming soon. Doesnt have to be gameplay, can be bits of lore etc

They already do that. Halo, Forza, Flight Simulator, Minecraft and Grounded have regular info updates. Even Starfield got a lore update.

…be their own events 3 or 4 times a year and take advantage of third-party games that are highly anticipated. A short example, event in November showcasing the Halo campaign, some cool Starfield facts along with concept arts, trailers for Scorn, The Gunk, Bright Memory, As Dusk Fall or Tunic and trying to get something from Elden Ring, GTA Trilogy and two or three more third party games.
Another event in February or March showing gameplay from Forza Motorsport and Redfall, some trailer for Hellblade or Avowed and games like Scorn, As Dusk Fall, Tunic, that were not shown in the previous event, combine all of that with third party games.
These events would generate a lot of noise and doing it several times a year will make xbox be in the spotlight of the media and the casual public constantly.
Pretty spot on.
Those singular game updates arent bad but outside of the dire followers of said games they have little eyes on them from casuals which is what these direct types encourage.
