So this “6 months of nothing” was just hyperbole and not the truth? ok.
Now you’re just being willing obtuse.
You know that’s NOT what we mean.
I feel the issue with ID@ Xbox streams its targeted more to the hardcore base. I don’t think it targets the masses like a Nintendo Direct or state of play. I feel it would benefit many if they were to mix in ID@xbox showcase with some third party games. I think the issue with these shows is it’s not going to target the many, but the hardcore. Like even the way xbox market the shows it doesn’t generate as much hype as their other stuff.
Don’t get me wrong the shows are cool, but a 2-3 hour indie show is not going to keep many people’s attention for long or a quick 10-15 minute indie show won’t attract the many
For me, 3 out of 4 games shown at the beginning and at the end made the showcase for me. The middle sucked but didn’t matter because the beginning and end easily made up for it. At least for me anyway.
Microsoft should do the same but the problem is that the biggest games they will have will most likely be Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI which will probably get 20+ minute segment the year they release so eliminate them and I don’t see them doing a 20 minute or so State of Play like stream for Avowed, Redfall, etc.
Microsoft should bring back Inside Xbox and have a subtitle to it that highlights the focus of the show. And if it’s a single game, then it should just be Inside Xbox: AVOWED (as an example) and done.
Sadly though, I don’t see Microsoft doing Inside Xbox or any kind of Direct/State of Play even though I believe that they should and should have started them earlier this year.
I agree with this 100%.
I’m just stating facts. Maybe some of you should watch Nintendos Directs and their content more before you make up some hyperbole about it.
Also Playground hosts Forza streams every 2-4 weeks. Xbox and Asobo host Flight Sim streams every month. And so on. Let me guess - also doesnt count.
Nintendo and Sony have Directs and SoP about Indie games all the time
I think MS will start doing more “Direct” or “State of Play” style events when all of their studios start firing on all cylinders. I honestly won’t care if they don’t though. Whether I get a blogpost, a tweet, or a 30-60 minute stream, I’ll get the information regardless, so…
Oh please Xbox FPS boost news? Almost every day? The pot calling the kettle black.
Yep we’re The Dude and some other folks are Walter.
I think issue with these type of events they’re not marketed as events as stop everything you’re doing to watch this stream. I think with state of play and Nintendo direct they’ve pretty much nailed down that aspect of their events.
Also those Forza streams are very niche and only hardcore forza fans watch them.
I think this whole issue Microsoft has right now is marketing and how to showcase game and events. I don’t think its hard to create a direct like event every quarter to maintain hype and showcase new games. I think with Microsoft current format small to medium sized games get forgotten. Lastly, Microsoft partners would probably thank them if they can create these type of events to showcase games
They already do Forza, Halo, Minecraft, Grounded, Flight Simulator updates. No reason to do an event to show things that you already do.
In a ideal scenario I would be happy to have a big packed event every month. The thing is, this isn’t possible. I’d rather have one amazing event + TGA every year than multiple mediocre events.
Thats usually just a blog post tho.
Buy who is saying a packed event every month??? No reason xbox cant do a February show-E3-September show-TGA run for example.
Is that not news?
Asking more of a promoted series x feature is wrong?
Yeah, but what would be shown there? Most of MS games have updates and announcements outside events(Forza, Halo, Grounded, Flight Simulator, Minecraft), so what would this event bring to the table?
You know what just forget it.
Yall deserve the 6 long months of silence we usually get before E3 then mind you we had weeks here of “doom posting” because we knew nothing about xbox basically since the Series X launched but ok we get enough news because Playground uploads forza streams for their hardcore fans and Ninja Theory uploads a 3 min video on their channel. Dont worry all is good then.
We had a super cool video by Ninja Theory and Melina months ago and 0 mainstream official xbox channels bothered to promote it or upload it. But xbox does well to cover its studios sure I brought it up and it got shut down cause xbox does perfectly in its marketing.
No it should be encouraged but a blog post on BC and FPS boosted games or a youtube video on the Xbox channel is still news when it is new.
I think before covid they had somewhat right of an idea when they had:
June: E3 August: Gamescom November: XO
However still a big gap from November to June. I think fitting something in like March or April will def be an improvement from what they’re currently doing. Also it seems they have scaled back gamescom, so unsure if that’s an event they use to showcase games
I think easy way to do stuff is can focus on E3, X0 and have an event in February or March. They can then create some events to show gameplay deep dive of upcoming major releases and can also sprinkle some indie games or gamepass announcement in those shows.
