Really dont think this is as much of a conspiracy as people want to make it out to be. Square loves taking playstations money and when the game was announced a few years ago, it looked a lot better and different from whatever the hell it is now.

It’s no conspiracy, SE wants direct payment for Xbox ports and Platinum after Scalebound dropped support completely. It’s really simple.

What I mean is that if the games’ target platform is PS4, it means the game was developed for the PS4 / Xbox One generation first and foremost. In fact I believe the version for Xbox was not developed at all and nobody would bother to delay a release for the port either.

Because Game Awards is a marketing opportunity for publishers to boost sales before holidays

Ok, I didn’t understand your point, I agree with you. There is more hope for 9th gen games, but it’s still early.

From the VGC review:

“Samus will add to her suite of abilities as she defeats bosses and explores further into ZDR, in the process rewarding and empowering the player for their achievements. Again, Dread does a great job of mixing series stalwarts, like the grapple beam and morph ball, with fresh abilities, and by the time you’re powered up you’ll feel like you’re playing a Ninja Gaiden action game.”

Hype! :gimme:

Mint Blitz with yet another CRACKED video

Honestly, the grapple is the best thing the franchise has gotten in a while.

man how indie games get nominated and racing games doesn’t get nominated.

I’m confident FH 5 will get 90+ score and might be only one to get this score this year

We already see that there are many more games that are coming to Xbox Series. New games - moneyhats aside - don’t skip Xbox Series at all. It is already better than Xbox One era.

Thus I don’t understand Lord Addict’s complaints on ILP that Xbox still does nothing for japanese support as you can’t just suddenly get the same level of support as Playstation. Even Playstation is getting less now due to Switch. And Xbox Series for now is outsold 1:10 by Playstation, yet most of the releases don’t skip it. It is already better than Xbox One. In the past we would not get Tales of Arise on Xbox. Yet people blame Phil for not getting other Tales series on Xbox.

Racing games are so tricky lol.

I simultaneously understand why it doesn’t get nominated for GOTY and but also understand it should get considerations for GOTY.

Addict’s rant was ignorant. Japanese support on Xbox between now and the early to mid Xbox One generation is night and day.

  • Nier Automata initially skipped Xbox, Replicant was day one
  • Tales had skipped Xbox for years, Arise was day one
  • In the past, Xbox wouldn’t have gotten games like Code Vein and Scarlet Nexus day one
  • Octopath Traveler is a pseudo-exclusive in that it’s yet to come to PlayStation
  • The entire Yakuza franchise is now on Xbox with Like A Dragon having been a timed exclusive
  • Kingdom Hearts in its entirety, I believe, is on Xbox when we were missing the first few games
  • Judgement, previously a PlayStation exclusive, is now on Xbox with its sequel that dropped day one

All of those games barring Replicant and Arise are or have been in Game Pass. The service is now helping bring over more niche titles like The Good Life, Astria Ascending and AI: The Somium Files. There are over 200 Japanese developers partnered with ID@Xbox. Xbox now owns a Japanese first-party studio, including The Evil Within franchise. Two of the most prolific developers in Japanese game development, Shinji Mikami and Hideo Kojima, are making Xbox exclusives.

If it wasn’t for PlayStation’s fuckery, we’d still have new Final Fantasy releases on Xbox. Barring that, the only major franchise you’d say that’s missing is Persona. There’s niche stuff like Ys, but that’s a periphery series. Obviously there is more work to be done, deals to be made, studios to acquire, but the current state of Japanese games on Xbox didn’t warrant the whining on the last ILP. I’m tired of Xbox fans finding something to cry about every single week.

Exactly. Starting from 2018 Xbox has been gradually getting more and more japanese games and I am pretty sure that if not for Sony’s moneyhat we would have FF coming to Xbox too. And that’s basically the only big release that Xbox misses. And we still don’t know the state of Persona, but I do believe that it is coming.

Looks like there’s no skill system, you level up by equipment gear. This kinda sucks…

Interesting. I won’t be playing the game until tomorrow afternoon once I pick it up from GameStop. I will definitely post impressions tomorrow night. That seems to be something different yet a lot of reviews said everything is the same as previous Far Cry games but apparently not.

I explain how the “leveling unlocks” work in my review. There is a camp system, in those camps you unlock 6 different buildings. These each have 3 levels which have various unlocks in them like the wingsuit. You also get a lot of skills by default now instead of having to unlock them. It works really well.
