With all these shooters releasing to lukewarm reception it really is Halo Infinite’s chance to breakthrough. Literally everything possible is lining up.

Haven’t played MP myself but truly everyone seems to love it, so it’s up to campaign to complete this thing. I don’t see MP and SP as separate, it’s one package. I keep my expectations normal but I hope for a fucking awesome ass campaign.
This is Game of the Year. Not that I have any idea if it deserves it, or not. Doesn’t matter

The deadline was November 15th last year if I remember correctly and it did not include Cyberpunk 2077 which released in December. Halo Infinite releases in December the day before the actual Game Awards show itself so safe to say that Halo Infinite will not be included. Forza Horizon 5 could be and will probably win sports/racing game of the year.

Actually, I was off by a week. It was actually November 20th, 2020. It was 2019 that was earlier because it was before Jedi Fallen Order released and I remember being like, why don’t they have the Game Awards in early February so it could include the entire calendar year plus would give everyone a showcase in February where it’s usually slow. So we were both off.

Another games which skips Xbox, meh. The only SE japanese game which does not it’s the Koei Tecmo one and I’m starting to think it’s no coincidence, there has been a visible reconciliation with KT. Moreover this is from Platinum, they openly make fun of Xbox, so I’m not really symphatetic with them.

You can safely expect that the game that has PS4 as a target platform will skip Xbox. On PS5 it is highly like to run in a backwards compatible mode.
This is less of a skip xbox, and more of just a straight up moneyhat from Playstation.
What does it mean? Porting games it’s easy task nowadays.
Do you really think Sony paid for this shit? I think it’s more the usual stingy SE, also Platinum has skipped Xbox for anything after Scaleboud outside of a hefty paid (and late) port of the successfull Nier Automata. “We are on good terms with MS” is a big bullshit, lol.

I would be disappointed if this wins over it takes two or psychonauts 2. I mean the reviews already saying it’s the same formula as before and it looks like an early 360 game

Doesn’t matter. Looking at all the candidates that have been mentioned for months, none of them have the benefit of being both a media darling franchise and a Switch game
