It’s true that People Can Fly “accused” Game Pass? Stupid if true, considering they don’t even know the actual numbers. Anyway it’s another example of how bad is SE, I wonder if dealing with them is worth it.
From what I can tell games pass hasn’t even been mentioned by them in the recent article about them not yet making profit.

Gamepass was not even mentioned. A lot of PS fans getting their knickers in a twist.
This is more like a Scarlett Johanssen situation. PCF just said they are not getting royalties because Square said it was not profitable. And some idiot did a quick clickbait article on that.
Very interesting - Square is saying Hitman, Avengers and Tomb Raider are not profitable. What is happening at Square?

The whole topic was about Square Enix not paying devs for game sales and people online blamed Game Pass for that. So basically nothing has changed - Microsoft to blame, Xbox to blame, Game Pass to blame 
It is sinking?
I won’t be surprised if Square is indeed up for sale, as the Bloomberg report indicated.

Hitman 3 should be a hit, right, at least.
Between this and their quarterly report where they praised the profits, I think that Square Enix is involved in some shady activities.
I mean their western branch is bleeding money (according them), eastern branch is fully moneyhatted, they lost their main porting studio…Doesn’t look healthy.

I don’t understand Destin too - missing the forest for the trees here. He zeroed in on Outriders.
The other three are actually legit AAA franchises that Square is claiming to have tanked.
I won’t be surprised to see Crystal and Eidos on the chopping block.
I observed he tends to fall into IGN habits of clickbait titles/videos, the wolf loses his hair…
IMO if even Guardian of the Galaxy doesn’t sell the unrealistic number SE has certaintly forecasted, its western branch would be spun off.

Prediction - FUD like this will ensure Xbox continues or accelerates its acquisition spree.(I know, I know - Phil, Satya, Matt have all said so.)
Sometimes, the press is too stupid to realise what they are doing, when they play into the hands of PS fanbois.
You will see more first party AAAs and fewer third party AAAs in GP over time. .And to aid that - more AAA studios will end up being acquired.

Interesting how this story on outriders fiasco turned into a gamepass debate, even tho they are not related directly. Ppl act as the game was not released on PS and PC as well, looks like now the profitability depends exclusively on the xbox sales, but I was told by sony fanboys Xbox gamers don’t buy games. What I pile of BS! It is really tiresome and defies any logic what sony fanboys (mainly) are doing to try to stain Gamepass. You pay a sub for over 300 games, and it is bad because you prefer to pay 70 for one game to help developers, acting like they put their games on gamepass for free? BS! I mean, it is your choice to buy game instead, but dont come with this elitist thinking, because it defies any logic from the consumer point of view. If only Gamepass was a Sony service I bet we wouldn’t be discussing this. Somehow the villain here is gamepass, but not SquareEnix that didn’t pay their bills, lmao.

If anything, Outriders would sell even less if not for Gamepass, I’m sure.
Blaming Gamepass is really bad move by anyone that’s doing it, shows complete lack logic and fanboyism.

I think gamepass helped get the game some word of mouth. Also from what I recall the game during launch window was usually in top 10 most paid. Also outriders was usually in xbox’s top 10 NPD, so I don’t think gamepass hurt sales of the game. I just think this is mostly a square issue it seems
