I loved Asylum and liked City, don’t even dare to start up Knight with all the horror stories I’ve heard. That has to be the perfect example of a series getting progressively worse with every installment.

Knight’s my favorite personally. Combat and stealth reached their peak here, and I think the story is great. The batmobile was a little overused but I think it was a welcome addition. For some reason I didn’t enjoy Asylum and City as much as I wanted to.

Batmobile is overused but I think the game is good it needs that fps boost

It thought Arkham City was considered to be the best in the trilogy. (Not counting Arkham Origins)

It is? I thought Asylum was much better.

Yeah, almost everybody I’ve seen says City is the best.

Ah well, people are mostly wrong and I’m right so…

It’s still a great game, but it has some issues. I just don’t like the futuristic Batman universe, so that heavily impacts my enjoyment of the game.

It’s my personal favorite. AA is great, but I love the freedom of exploring the city and gliding around.

Pfffttt! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

He’s right though

Nah, but for real, Asylum is absolutely the best of the three, it just worked. I feel that the more linear approach worked better for it too.

But also a higher resolution and image quality because it looked rough back then, especially in interiors and now even more so after having seen tons of crisp and clean looking games. To this day AK is an amazing looking game on PC and probably PS4 Pro too, but Xbox One…not so much. If Rocksteady were to go back and make it 4K, would make a tremendous difference.

Thinking about it it’s crazy how long we haven’t seen anything from them, reminds me of Rockstar in a way. They are busy on Suicide Squad and honestly after the latest movie a lot of great things can be done here, but it’s also GaaS, right? No idea what we’re gonna get.

The Batmobile in Arkham Knight was good for traversal and for puzzles like jumping off a roof to access another area or using the grapple hook to lift up an elevator. What was horrible were the tank battles. If the game didn’t have garbage in it at all, there would most likely be little to no complaints with the Batmobile.

I am looking forward to Gotham Knights next year though!!!

Side Note: When is this OT being pinned to the top of the page and the previous OT being unpinned?

Up for this debate but

How much recency bias does Kratos have that people are putting him up there with like Master Chief as a bigger gaming icon?

That game did win game of the year when it came out

I think the recent game def elevated the character to new heights, but the series was always pretty popular. I don’t have the numbers, but I remember reading the franchise sold over 50million copies, so it’s been a popular series. I feel with the playstation brand Kratos has been face of brand since the first god of war.

Really? Jeez then I must not had placed much attention to the series. I always knew it was solid but not that popular.

yeah just looked it was announced in november 2020 that they’ve sold 51million copies in the franchise. However it was at 40million before the reboot. I think for Sony its probably their biggest mascot, but def feel Kratos is a tier below characters you’ve mentioned, bit franchise has been pretty big

I still cannot believe that they made a Remake of Myst.

Although, the nostalgia is only there if you played this in the 90s and/or you know their dev diaries trivia a bit like where they kept the images on the CD tracks etc.

Arkham Asylum is really tight and well designed game. Arkham City going open world introduced a lot of bloat and busy work. AC may have better moments, but AA is overall tighter experience

I’m probably misremembering, but wasn’t there a way to uninstall games on your Xbox via the Xbox phone app? Or was it only the option to install them?
